Official TES V Speculation Thread #85

Post » Tue Jul 20, 2010 1:57 am

I'd be interested in just reading the article as well; just to catch up on some history.

It is interesting why they're doing that. Maybe they are refreshing our memories in light of the next game. Why else would there be a four page article out of nowhere?

Luckily I too have a subscription to Game Informer... though I don't usually get issues as early as this. Still, I will go out in an hour or two and go check my p.o. box for it, and if it's there, and the article is indeed there, I'll post excerpts of it while of course following this forum's rules. If I don't receive the magazine today, I'll let you guys know as well.

But yeah, I agree, if this article is real it's a really, really good sign that the next cover will be TES V.

Yup, and that means all of our predictions could be proven true very shortly...since they have a set date, and pete hines has said two things recently, A) will understand clearly soon enough, and B)Unless you hear it from us(him specifically).

Honestly I don't think the kid would lie about something like this...and it just make sense to. Put it in an issue that everybody is going to be reading.

So Nick booked an hotel to PAX huh?
Well, that fits with our speculation, January-February announcement followed by PAX presentation. Bethesda likes PAX and Fallout 3 was demo'd there back in 2008 I think.

Unless it's just to demo Rage and Brink which release date are next year.

SKYRIM is an anagram for MY RISK

MY RISK refers to the risk taken by the player in Oblivion, upon entering the kavatch oblivion gate.
That was at the beginning of the game, almost like a turorial.

TURORIAL is an anagram for ORAL RITU

ES5 Will be Released on September 22, 2011

OH MY GOD

My birthday is April 22, and September 22 is 5 months after my birth day, exactly.
5 months is hidden sign for TESV. Bethesda is making TESV just for me!!!

This is promising, it's getting close to launch time i think :P
I know some people were discouraged by Pete Hines' comment (the negative one obviously), but he and everyone at Bethesda probably know what a bunch of hyper kids we are about any slight hint what so ever. So yeah i'd probably have denied the feb GI rumour as well.

Just to clarify, are we talking about PAX or PAX East? Because (unless I'm mistaken) last year Beth only attended PAX East which (again, unless I'm mistaken) was in March.

Bethesda is going to PAX East, which is happening March 11.

So do people normally announce games there first, or is it a 'look at this stuff we told you about!' kind of thing?

(and can someone link me to the twitter feed? Who is Nick?)

Here you go http://twitter.com/nickbreckon

Nick is a community manager, he is also in Beth's podcasts.

Well, there are announcements in PAX, but I don't think Bethesda will announce it but rather demo their game in it.

Well, my hopes for TESV are as high as anyone's, but let's not forget that gamesas has at least two confirmed but unannounced games they are publishing, one by Arkane Studios and one by the other one with the snail logo (forgot the name), which in my opinion are more likely the reason Beth is attending PAX.

That game sure sounds like TESV and you know what else? Bethesda has a studio in the Netherlands (Eindhoven, I think) so maybe these guys got some heads-up, especially since they seem pretty big over there.

Also, this forum update just before VGAs seems interesting.

It can be TESV, the Gamekings talk about a unannounced RPG that could cause a huge hype like GTA and Gran Turismo so it must be a existing franchise (Elder Scrolls??? ).

@ DrakeSnail: The Gamkings said the new RPG wil be announced NEXT week not this week so it cannot be Mass Effect 3 because ME3 wil be announced this Saturday at the VGA's ( according the Sony Russia tweet).

Standard practice is to use PAX to show off games that the public already knows about. It's not a press-heavy event (compared to other events, anyway), so usually announcements don't happen there.

Nick Breckon is a Community Manager for Bethesda Softworks. He basically handles the community for Bethesda, the publisher.

Also, I have confirmation of the Elder Scrolls article in the latest Game Informer:

Me: "@GI_AndyMc Can you confirm the presence of a four-page spread on the history of the Elder Scrolls series in the latest GI? There are rumors." http://j.mp/fkwjbo

Andy McNamara: "@michaelbuffaloe it's true!" http://j.mp/eaR9De

So there you go, it exists. Don't have any other details, but at least we know that much is true.
