Well Tomb Raider has already been announced... And I'm pretty sure you can edit and delete Tweets so if "T" was a mis-tweet, why didn't he take it down or edit it... As for Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect, no one's been waiting for those games "4ever"... Uncharted 2 was released Oct. 2009, Mass Effect 2 was released Jan. 2010. If either of those games turns out to be the Feb cover than McNamara has a pretty skewed outlook on time. On the other hand, in TES V's case, I'd say 4 years definitely warrants the use of the word forever in its exaggerated sense. And since we already ruled out DNF as the Feb cover via a Reiner tweet, I'd say there's really nothing left but Elder Scrolls V. Add that to the Elder Scrolls spread in the latest issue of GI, plus all the hype and rumors that have popped up the last few months(EuroGamer), and the chances of a TES V Feb GI cover look pretty f-ing good... I'm more excited for Feb than I was for whatever month it was that we whittled the choices down to TES V and DA2...

It was technically revealed AFTER the question was posed if the game on the Feb cover had been revealed or not. Though to be fair, Uncharted 3 isn't something people have been begging for forever, in my honest opinion. Even if people have been wanting it for the past year + doesn't mean they've been BEGGING, much less for forever.

Perhaps a better question for him would be if the game has been announced yet? Or, better yet, do you think he'd disclose the genre of the game or no?

Also, if the Feb GI is a new IP there is no way people have been begging for it.

So I think the only possibilities are Half Life 3 (or Episode 3) and TESV...
Both games we've been waiting for a long time. Though announcing another Half Life game with Portal 2 coming is odd... who knows what Gabe Newell is up to?

Everything points out that the next issue is definately TESV. I can't think of anything else...

The "T" was for "true", as in regarding the Uncharted 3 speculation.

I highly, highly doubt we'll see an announcement at the VGAs. Todd wanted to "show a lot" when they finally revealed the game, and you can't do that in a short VGA trailer. Not to mention it would go against Beth's "not just be one in a crowd of announcements" mentality that Pete seems to be fond of.

Here's a twitter conversation between me and Andrew Reiner. It was after he confirmed the letters in the background of the Elder Scrolls spread weren't some secret code as a few people originally thought...

Me: "Bummer. I still think TES V is gonna be your Feb cover..."

AR: "Are you the guy that says this every month? If so, you've been doing this since last June. "

Me: "Hahaha, I'm definitely one of the guys that does this. There are others. My plan is to pester you guys until you do it..."

Seeing how things tend to go in the game market, I'd be less surprized to find out that "T" stood for "Teenage mutant nitwit snails or whatchamacallits", "Total War #11 - Sorority Pillowfights", or a remake of some old DOS game like TETRIS (now THAT would qualify as "forever"), rather than TES V. Of course, anything can happen.
