Post » Sun Jul 25, 2010 7:00 am

There is NO OFFICIAL information about a new TES game release.

This thread is for member speculation of when and if TES V will be released. This is where you post any new information about when it might be released, tidbits from interviews which mention it and such.

It is also where you post your theories of when you think it might come out based on guesses, number crunching, rumors or such.

This is about speculating on the next TES game and when -- or if -- it is going to be released. It is not a place for discussion of what is going to be in it, what type of graphics there will be, or any other subject of that type; they belong in the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1145436-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-187/. If those kind of posts get raised they will be deleted and the poster warned for going off topic.

Maybe a better question to ask Andy would be whether or not the cover is a reveal or an announcement.

McNamara doesn't usually answer Tweets. I'd talk to Andrew Reiner instead...

Good one. Can someone do this?
Subtle questions like those can help us find out what it will be about.

I will go ahead and do that.

This is what I asked him:
"Is the next cover a game that was already revealed or not?"

I think by now McNamara is wise to people from this thread dissecting his tweets, and likely wont tell us anything that would give us much of a hint. Then again, maybe he actually likes it and would give us a hint just to see how we react.

That's if he even noticed we were beavering away here in our secluded part of the internet.

Isn't this thread #87?

Edit: Yes, yes it is.

What else is there to talk about in the newsletter besides a new game?

Fallout: New Vegas DLC, and other published games I guess.

They have to prepare everyone for their big new game:

Darn it, well... in the last Newsletter they posted a lot about the Dead Money, a screenshot and a little interview full of details about the DLC. And I don't think there is much to talk about the published games, maybe a few screenshots but besides that there is nothing relevant.
And the podcast is usually available on the same day as the newsletter. Hopefully both will contain something.

Just being optimistic.

I wonder if they will announce the game on their podcast, it would be a media flood regardless.

That is one of my biggest hopes.

So speculators, what are the possibilities of Bethesda announcing something at VGA?

Two forum things I'm suspicious about. One, the use of Roman numerals under the Elder Scrolls subforum to designate Morrowind and Oblivion. It seems strange that they would add that in front of the name that everyone knows them by. Also, it's not common practice (in my experience) to number a list unless there are 3 or more. Furthermore, this new setup would make it easier for new members to find the TESV subforum if they don't know the exact name.

Also, the new Facebook signin. Normally, this is the sort of thing you do if you expect a massive number of new members.

Just a bit of optimism.

Them announcing it at the VGA is like us finding acidic based life forms in California, ha. Has a game ever been announced over a podcast?

Why wouldn't you want to do something new? That's what they always say is they want to do something new.

I really don't see a VGA announcement either, but I will say that since Softworks is publishing the game, THEY do have a precedence for announcing games at the VGA. Brink I believe was a Softworks published VGA announcement... so you never can count it out.

Right, I think I remember that cause I was waiting and waiting for it to be an ES game and it turned out not to be....:(
