Official TES V Speculation Thread #89

Post » Fri Sep 17, 2010 10:38 pm

That is great. I am 100% sure TESV will be febs GI cover.

Well there goes my ability to say "Nobody has said it's set in stone yet"

It's not over till the fat lady sings buddy! We all want it to be but none of us are sure it even is TES related and that's a fact

Yes, we need to all keep this in mind.

Look, I'm just as hopeful as the next guy, but don't get your hopes too high... It's better not to be expecting it. That way, if it is, then great! a pleasant surprise. But it it's not, oh well, it'll com eventually.

http://http://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/13688281329836032# I just noticed a tweet from Geoff Keighley.

Do any of you think that the developer is Bethesda, and that the game is TES:V?

There's just no way to be certain. There's no information in the tweet that even hints at who it might be. It's best not to get our hopes up, at least not on this tweet alone. It could be any developer, really.

And Todd Howard doesn't have a twitter so we can't see what he's up to. :brokencomputer:

Aside from Jason Bergman, whos probably flying out to Los Angeles to accept an award on behalf of Obsidian, there hasn't been any other confirmed reports that Bethesda members are flying out. The odds of TES V at the vga's are lookin pretty slim.

In regards to this Annette Gonzalez, you're all over anolyzing things again. Either that, or you're distorting things until you see what you want to.

Man this waiting is killing me

Yeah these posts need to stop. Look how many times i've posted in this thread! once. The wait is killing me too, but the mods have given us enough warnings.

Now I ask you, just how much information and discussion did those posts add to this thread? It's what has been getting these threads locked. Because on every page there are this many or mor just to say, "I hope so" "I can't wait" "Don't get your hopes up"....all things every person on this forum thinks and if every one of them posts that they can't wait that is all it will be, then it will be 11 pages of "I'm so disappointed."

Calm down, breathe, we have no clue and we are all wishing and hoping but I really don't want to have to close this thread 20 zillion times before it is announced nor make 20 zillion more of them.

Please use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1146475-video-game-awards-2010/ for general discussion of the Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Unless TES V is mentioned or the VGAs are over there is no reason to continue discussing them here, please use the thread in Community Discussion.

I think the thing I am most looking forward to is the gamekings announcement next week... Though it still seems a bit iffy, from what the fine dutch members of this forum have translated for us, its a decent possibility of an announcement, thought there are many other possibilities...

With that said, not to be a downer here, but I agree with those who say we need to step back a bit on the February GI announcement... It may look a tad bit promising, but the gaming world is quite expansive...

Say TESV were to be announced in the next week, when would the game come out approximately?

Yeah I'd assume the first date they would give is Fall 2011, though knowing Bethesda it will likely be delayed to at least a few months later. Then again, if they really are as far along as they say they are they many actually not delay it this time.

The initial release date for FO3 was Fall 2008 and they made that. Yes Oblivion was delayed by several months but at least part of the problem was their attempt to be a launch title, at this point they're familiar enough with the technology that I wouldn't expect a delay like that.

I think Fall 2011 is a very good guess as well, whether the game is announced this month or early 2011. Holiday 2011 also seems like a safe bet but honestly the difference between the two is negligible. I wouldn't rule out 2012 but I think 2011 is more likely.

I don't know, but look at that a little more carefully:

Next year is going to be awesome.

I know I may be reading a little too much into tweets (just like everyone else on this damn forum :P) but how would next year be awesome if the game wasn't being released?

Which game has been scheduled as the shortest release time for any game of its series?

The next Bethesda game! I'm not quite sure what you're angle is on this post, but, if there is a February GI cover(which is the first 2011 cover), that still leaves 12 months to release, which from my understanding is still the shortest amount of time for a bethesda game.

Well, if you look http://www.gameinformer.com/members/giannette/default.aspx, she doesn't have any Elder Scrolls game listed as her favourite. Also, I looked at her Achievements and she hasn't even played Oblivion.

But, this may be getting my hopes a little high, she lists RPG's and Action/Adventure games as her favourite genres - which TES could quite easily fall under.

Yes, I noticed that, too.

Also, regarding Oblivion not being on her achievements list, someone said that maybe she plays it on PC. Let's hope this is the case.

It's possible, as Bethesda is a bit secretive. But really, it could be anyone...

Just wait and find out. Not that much longer.

Where do we get more info on the awards? I mean is it like E3 were it has a flood of info on the net right after?
