Official TESV Speculation Thread #73

I hear that bethesda is planning a big annoucment at the end of this mouth!!!!! :D (repeated offence)

Link or it didn't happen. ;)

I'll believe it when I see it. However, I check two sites every morning for news. Bethblog and the ArenaNet Blog (GW2). Been a slow start for both this week.

Yes once again I am drawn to question your reliability. The only evidence of what you suggest is a few people saying that they want Bethesda to announce it at the end of the month.

Or it could just be a late podcast.

a late pod cast is unlikely at this point, the last pod cast was delayed as well...technically.

The podcast should be released soon as Nick said that they were going to record it in a minute (probably an hour) yesterday.

2011 then. I really don't see a TES V announcement until New Vegas bugs cease to be a news item. Of course, if arrangements were made prior to the NV release they might not have a choice. Still, their current message needs to be "we stand behind our products" not "we're moving on." That TES V development and NV support would be done by different teams is irrelevant. Folks mostly run on emotion, not logic.

Ah... might not have been what you meant, but it at least got me thinking: "Hell, maybe Bethesda was ready to announce, but then came NV... and they crawled back in their shell in danger of having TES's name smudged because of Obsidian's bug-problems."

Well, as soon as they solve those problems, that won't be a problem anymore, I guess -- when the bugs are fixed, people will see NV for the great game it is, and Beth can take some of the credit :)
(it's at least some of their guys doing the bug-testing and fixing, right?)

Not to mention they have already released pathes for New Vegas. It's not really Bethesda's fault Microsoft and Sony are slow. I had the PC patch on day 2.

I speculate that by christmas we will have an answer. It will be one of the biggest game announcements on this current generation of consoles rest assured.

Does anyone know if game informer use DEC to showcase the next years biggest game on their cover??

Well, you can look at the http://gameinformer.com/mag/covers.aspx Last year, it looks like the December issue didn't have a cover for a new game. But the January 2010 issue was Dead Space 2, which came in December of 2009 I think.

The next issue, which will be the December issue will have a game cover I suppose. Then I would assume the January cover won't have a game cover, or maybe the February cover.

Then again, does anyone know if they'll have a cover that won't feature a game on the cover?? Some of the years past did not have a cover that didn't feature a new game.

I went ahead and asked Andy McNamara:
"MrTissueBox
@GI_AndyMc Will the December, January, and February issues feature a game on the cover? Dec.2009 cover didn't feature a game on the cover."

I plan a plot under Parliament (!)

Fireworks are chinese. The chinese discovered tea. Tetley produce tea. Tetley has two of the letters in TES and the 5th is the S and the 5. Bethesda enjoy tetley tea.

The links couldn't be simpler (!)

The December 2009 issue didn't have a game on the cover because it was their special 200th issue. They did a list of their picks for the 200 best games of all time. December 2007, January 2008, December 2008, January 2009, and January 2010 all had games on their covers. There is no set pattern really. Its whatever they feel like doing. Every issue since January 2007 has had a game on the cover except December 2009, which as I said before, was their special 200th issue. I would bet we see a game on every GI cover until the next generation systems are announced.

Other Possibilities for GI's next few issues...

-Uncharted 3 (speculation up on this, with, what it now known as fake, concept art making it's rounds)
-Prof. Layton v. Ace Attorney (getting a lot of interest)

It is not really a likelihood that the December issue will have TES on the cover since we are so close to the GI cover reveal; that doesn't mean it can't happen, it just isn't likely as it seems Bethesda would want to announce it themselves rather than allowing GI to do it with a cover. Yes there is still time, but not a lot, and unless Bethesda struck a sweet deal with GI (which is possible) it won't likely be TESV.

The next podcast will probably be just them talking about how well New Vegas sold and maybe address the bug issue, so I wouldn't be looking too far into the delay.

Bethesda wont be doing a damn thing to address the bug issue. They'll make Obsidian Fix it. Slowly.

You sound like you're angry that Obsidian, the developer, is the one who has to clean up the bugs in the game they developed. Sure it's the QA team at Bethesda's job to spot the bugs but it's not their job to fix them. What is Bethesda's job, however, is making TES V so we can play a new Bethesda game and not a sup-par copy of a Bethesda game like New Vegas.

No I'm angry at Bethesda for realeasing (publishing) the game in such a buggy state.

The QA Team isnt doing thier job well enough. Cause those are some pretty big bugs.
