Weather they announce it soon or not I really hope we get a new Elder Scrolls website. The current one is pushing the vintage 90's theme.

I've had a little think about this and want to throw my thoughts out there for the community to ponder.

I'm going with if we don't get an announcement this month then we wont get an announcement till sometime (I hope early) next year. Why? Because, with New Vegas out its possible that Bethesda with to use some of their profits to market Elder Scrolls V big time. I mean they are making a follow up to a game that has awards coming out of every virtual orifice, to follow that up you have to have a pretty darn big project, and of course Bethesda need to make money. I would assume that marketing div, is hoping to advertise TES V on massive global scale with the intent (hope?) of making double what they did on Oblivion. Reason I say we wont see an announcement in December is really well whats the point? It's an announcement, if we're lucky we may get a very brief teaser trailer. So why bother spending money at the busiest time of the year to advertise (Xmas shopping etc) a game that wont come out until at least I don't know 6 months or so later? This probably makes little sense but I just wanted to see if anyone agreed/disagreed/couldn't care less etc. Hope you are all ok.

*fake edit*
If its a November announcement any chance you could make it on the 4th as its my birthday then please Todd! =P

Also Michael Kirkbride, a contract developer for Bethesda, is rumored to be working on Nordic lore with text such as The Seven Fights of The Aldudagga.

Sheesh, I hope not. The Seven Fights were terrible.

Dagon did as he said, begging Alduin Time-Eater to reverse his decision one hundred thousand and eight times, and halfway through this number Dagon shut his eyes tight to really mean it and then three-quarters through this number he began to shout his beggings to really, really, really mean it, but when he was done begging Alduin was not near the mountaintop he stood on.
Please keep this kind of thing away from the series.

Let's also remember that it wasn't until Morrowind that the Elder Scrolls series acclaimed beyond cult status and went into the main stream of games. So why would they risk a new IP when they already have an established one.

There...fixed. :whistling:

Because one can tell so much from a single out of context quote.

The Seven Fights are overflowing with information. Like explaining why Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh are in conflict. If your problem is the style -- well, that's just because they're Nords.

If I'm correct that Beth is working on a new engine for this game I strongly doubt it would be a spinoff. I would expect a spin off to be like what they've just done with NV. Also with what everyone else has pointed out so far i strongly believe this new game will be TES:V.

In my mind Beth is known for TES and after a lot of new fans introduced to them with Fallout and Oblivions growing fame and the fact that its still years later viewed as one of the best games of all time it would only make sense to me for this game to be TES:V.
Beths a really hot gaming company with several game of the years under there belt and raking in millions of sales just on preorder alone, that right now is there chance to hit the market with a big blockbuster like the next TES.

I think he just hopes that 5 will be gaming nirvana manifested into a physical form. Something that makes people wish they put on brown pants before playing.

Lol, no. Todd himself said that TES:V will be on this gen.

Nope, he said their current game will be on this generation.

All this proves for certain is that whatever they are currently working on will likely be the last BGS project for this generation, and that whatever comes after will be on the next. Well, maybe two in between. We'll see.

Although I do think it's TESV. It only makes sense.

That's the issue though, there profits won't start rolling in till at least 6 months it takes a much longer amount of time for royalty payments to come in, so next year seems likely for a game release as they will have the marketing capital from new vegas open.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...I want to cut myself....

So each and every day I watch for a "no word" mark to get a little heads-up on the announcement... well today, there is a new "no word" mark... and it DEFINITELY isn't TES.

It very well could be an image for a brand new IP... I hope someone can give me hope... curse you Snails!

Look it up folks:

85163034

Then try not to shoot yourselves in the face.

EDIT: Possible over reaction as it is probably just for softworks, but hey, who knows :) hehehe
EDIT #2: It's for Tango haha
EDIT #3: Whew

I don't for sure know that Ta... stands for Tango Gameworks but I do know that all the Tango Gameworks marks were entered into Tram at the same time. They are sequential and with an absurd amount of probability related.

EDIT: and this... http://tangogameworks.com/

Jesus Christ!!!

We all know that TES uses Gamebryo, and that Gamebryo supports Speedtree (which Oblivion uses.)

but look at http://www.speedtree.com/showcase/ on the speedtree website. about halfway through. The statue is Nocturnal.

And Although I'm sure Speedtree has great modelers and texturers, It seems likely that they'd borrow their examples. Why? because their modelers should be busy working on... well... trees.
