I really can't say I see the resemblance.

I mean I guess their robes are similar...

Because one can tell so much from a single out of context quote.
So you expect everyone to quote the entire source every time? That's asinine.

The Seven Fights are overflowing with information. Like explaining why Mehrunes Dagon and Akatosh are in conflict.
Yeah, because the nords believe in Akatosh. Oh, wait...

If your problem is the style -- well, that's just because they're Nords.
No, it's because that's what he wanted the nords to be. Mountain farts and such. It isn't just the style of the nords either, or have you not read very many of various books of that sort?

So November has rolled around. Is there any new solid speculation (reasonably) floating around? Or is it going to be next month, the same way it was going to be next month for a while now?

Anything concrete? No. We haven't gotten anything new for a while now. I still stand by my estimate that we'll hear something before the end of February, but even that is just me guessing. The Spike TV VGAs are coming in December and there's a slim possibility the game may be revealed there, but honestly we're still just playing the waiting game.

????

I think you answered your own question...

You mean, do we have some new fact or perhaps a clue?

Haha, you wouldn't have to come here if there were such a verifiable thing...

I like the speedtree video. I don't think it provides any clues for the next TES game by necessity, although the textures do look nicer than Oblivion. Well, we'll see. It was fun to watch at least.

Jesus Christ!!!

We all know that TES uses Gamebryo, and that Gamebryo supports Speedtree (which Oblivion uses.)

but look at http://www.speedtree.com/showcase/ on the speedtree website. about halfway through. The statue is Nocturnal.

And Although I'm sure Speedtree has great modelers and texturers, It seems likely that they'd borrow their examples. Why? because their modelers should be busy working on... well... trees.

http://halo2and34u.com/images/123456.jpg. The only similarity is that the statue in SpeedTree is also of a hooded woman. Nothing out of the ordinary there :P

I like how the estimates for an announcement are now being pushed back to February. It used to be depressing, but it's passed that point now. I just see the funny side in all this déjà vu. At least the future is bright though! We'll be playing TES:V, and seeing Zenimax evolve to combat the evil of Activision!

That video has been up there for a couple years already. I certainly hope TESV uses the updated Speedtree tech, but I don't think the statue looks like any current depiction of Nocturnal.

Shades: You've been whining about this since Morrowind. You like Daggerfall lore, we get it, so ignore the other 90% of it and stop moaning at every opportunity.

HauntedLord: From the initial post: "one liners and posts of little substance will be considered as spam and thus the poster will be subject to warnings and suspensions." Your posts are both. Please stop.

Doesn't help that while Nords don't worship Akatosh necessarily they do consider him to be real, often as a destroying adversary elven-god who is opposed to Shor.

I'm willing to bet anyone who wants to lose $100 that their new game is NOT TES V.

I'll take that bet.

The basic idea of the of rules is that you shouldn't be an ass, contribute to the threads or not post at all, and at least try to write proper English if you want to be taken seriously.
Okay, I made that last part up, but really, at least try to write proper English if you want to be taken seriously. It gets you a lot further in most communities. No matter how smart the content of a post is, if it's written in bad English, it's going to ruin everything.

Just lurk a bit and conform to your peers like you did in junior high.

I have heard rumors that TES5 will be an MMO. Is this true or anything? I have waited FIVE years already, if they make an MMO, I will be so mad.

Bethesda Game Studios doesn't make MMOs. They've said so themselves.

However, it is very possible that the MMO that http://zenimaxonline.com is working on is a TES MMO, but even if they are, it would be a spin-off, not TES V, VI, VII, etc.

There was just a question I've had in my mind for a while now, but to those of you who come and post in this forum topic regularly (Antibody, SyltStryder, Stain, etc.) , how do you manage to continually find subjects to discuss related to TES V's release?

Well I can only speak for myself, but for me I think of this speculating business as a game. I have had a lot of fun (in my own kind of way) learning about trademark legalities, compiling data with excel sheet after excel sheet, reading up on statistics and probabilities, and even getting a self-taught lesson plan in marketing strategies. It's been very entertaining learning little bits on knowledge and sometimes deeper bits of knowledge all while coming up with "justified" dates and time frames. The stuff I come up with is based on "known" things and there are plenty of those around to find. I can say that I see Antibody has to do a lot of correcting people's misinformation so I think he's kind of a good steward on that side. Stain doesn't seem to post as much as he used to, but I really like the guy and look forward to the things he puts on here.
