Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:31 am

That article doesnt tell us anything, other than the obvious.

"The next elder scrolls game with have a V in it and it will come after the previous 4 games."

Well DUH.

I did, however I don't want to remember those times... (Game Informer disappointment) :(

Damn... why won't Bethesda announce it? D:

It's the perfect time, with VGA and all stuff going on. The only RPG in VGA is Bioware's next game (Probably ME3). Announce something already!

I have a good feeling that over the next few days/weeks we shall see an official announcement.

Until then however I shall continue to be addicted to my Anno 1404.

Dragon Lord huh? Does this have something to do with Akavir since it means Dragon Land? Does Akavir have anything to do with Skyrim?

If we're going to Akavir then we'll finally be seeing some dragons maybe.

Heh, I tried Anno 1404 yesterday, unfortunately I really didn't get into it.

And yeah, I think we might see an announcement, or at least some new hints.

Don't get your hopes up, but if this were after infernal city, and akavir decided to stage an attack, their likely points of attack would be the eastern border of tamriel and if by sea, Skyrim.(Morrowind's seas are kind of a mess right now)

Keep in mind the Ka Po Tun literally have a tiger-dragon king and have been known to want to attack tamriel for some time now..

That might explain this "dragon lord" business...

I don't know, this whole thing seems fishy. Wouldn't get my hopes up too much yet. Although, it's hard not to. :)

I wish we just had an official announcement already! I don't care when it comes out, I don't mind waiting. But give me something!

need....*cough*....screens....interviews...*collapse*

as games sites go eurogamer are pretty reliable,
that said it's quite plausible that the only thing they found out was that "there will be an ESV" and the rest has been added on to bulk the story out

Dragon Lord could also be a reference to Martin Septim. Unlikely, but possible!

This whole new information sounds like someone, who had little exposure to TES series, was told about plot of Oblivion (Blades, Lord Dagon) and maybe that there's going to be a sequel. Then that person came back and reported what he remembered/understood/interpreted from conversation, and thus got fantasy setting, Blades, Dragon Lord and direct sequel.

Maybe Beth wanted to give us something else to think about, so they can make their new game in peace.

lol, naaah...
The game is "pretty far along" according to that interview with Todd. The coming days won't be of much trouble to Bethesda, all that is left to do is announce. The only thing stopping them from doing it is Pete's permission.

Sounds like a title a fat Bosmer would give to himself to be honest.

Good lord I hope they announce the game soon and show of some screenshots. I just spent the better part of an hour trying to explain that their engine has been heavily modified, since the vast majority of comments from the general gaming public are along the lines of: "If they use Gamebryo again, I'm not buying it. That engine is dated, yet they STILL used it in Fallout 3 and New Vegas." So many people are thinking this way, and to be honest, I don't blame them. I just want some screenshots... quickly... so I can stop getting annoyed at all the ignorance and hate.

Heard the news, it sounds amazing. Probably not true though. I can't help but wonder how bethesda is handling the news. Are they talking about it with rumors or has production been delayed while there is an internal witch hunt for the leak?

The Devs did say that it would be the shortest time in between announcement of the game and the actual game release. Until I hear Bethesda announce it I'll take everything that I've heard as just rumor for the moment.

The only thing is though why would they release Infernal City and then have TESV occur before it that to me wouldn't make any sense.

I think the whole "direct sequel to Oblivion" thing is confusing people. By that, they mean it will be the official next game in the series. Not a spinoff or a mmo or anything like that. It's not going to be Oblivion 2...

Agreed. The ideology of the elderscrolls has always been that you don't need to play the previous one to understand whats going on in the one you're currently playing. Many devs including Todd Howard have said this.

I just thought of something I think Bethesda would've announced TESV by now but New Vegas delayed that from happening because they want people to focus on New Vegas and Dead Money, not something that won't come out for another year and a half.

I hope its not Oblivion 2 I mean Cryodill is a great province but we need a new enviorment.

Honestly, the whole Dragon Lord being about Akavir may be a likely story for the next game. Morrowind had hints for future games in the dialogue, and Oblivion may have one as well. There's a Bosmer in Anvil who says that his mother is coming for him in the dragon ships I believe. He also said something about itchy slugs climbing up his shirt. The "dragon ships" may actually be a hint for the future game, which involves Akavir.

Although that Bosmer was crazy in the head.

Crazy, or not crazy I don't really think it matters. Bethesda can add a hint in for anyone. Heck, a hint is even more plausible for crazy people. They're right sometimes...
