TES V's main quest is going to deal with Akavir invading Skyrim. I'm calling it right now.

Dream come true.

So... if the Eurogamer rumor is to be believed we should hold our breath for an announcement? I'm not sold.

This is why its confusing me, Eurogamer usually doesn't create rumors...in the same way that IGN or GameTrailers normally don't either which is why I'm suspicious.

This is just like when the one girl said she heard someone in Vegas talking about TES:V at the poker table... this is too much he said she said to be seen as anything more than an unreliable source

yeah, but that issue was posted on this site, I never believed a lick of it in the first place but Eurogamer doing something like this just seems Sooo odd to me. It's like if GameTrailers and made a video about a TES rumor.

It's Eurogamer Denmark with absolutely no source though, its not too different from what happened here.

Eurogamer Denmark is still tied to Eurogamer though and although you are correct, it's like IGN UK or IGN AUS doing something of that nature, normally I would leave the rumor mill up to vg247 or 1up.

Not trying to be pessimistic, but even if it's true, we're in the same boat as we were before.

Maybe, just maybe, Eurogamer Denmark ran this story because it's true... Maybe it's not a rumor at all...

I would be shocked if we hear an announcement about TESV in 2010. Bethesda doesn't need to announce it at the VGA's as they can announce it on their own and it would be bigger then the event because eveybody would be talking about it. I'm still leaning on an early 2011 announcement anytime around Jan-March 2011 with a release date of Oct 2011.

I don't think any of the rumors about eurogamer are going to amount to anything but speculation.

Well, one thing for sure is that we already know it was delayed once, they wanted to reveal it in 09 and have it released in 2010 but that didn't happen, so I'm thinking will get an announcement this year and a release next year.

Assuming for one moment that the Eurogamer article was true, if they were recording the voice acting right now what would that tell us about the stage of development? How far in production is that kind of stuff done?

That would mean storyline (dialogue) are finalised and NPCs and character have been made.......thats certainly well into development.

So in terms of a timeline, we're talking right near the end? I have no idea how these things work.

But that's the purpose of spreading rumors now, isn't it? That's all Bethesda needs us to do at the moment -- we're building up hype all on our own, and Bethesda hasn't even said anything. Soon the internet will be bursting with these kinds of rumors and everyone will know that TES V is coming -- and maybe then they will announce it.

Not near the end, but getting close there.....Though we already knew that as Todd has said they are pretty far into development on their current game.....or at least far enoguh to show off finshed game footage at an annoncement....and that was overa month ago.

RUMOUR WATCH: Claims that Bethesda’s next game will be a direct sequel to 2006’s Oblivion

It is being reported that Bethesda is currently developing a fifth instalment in its Elder Scrolls series.
Eurogamer claims that the game will be a direct sequel to 2006 console and PC RPG hit Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
It adds that the project has been in development for over two years and that the time between its announcement and release will be far shorter than we have typically been used to from the company.
“This source not only confirmed that the game is in current production, but also spoke briefly about the content and that voice acting for the characters in the game is currently happening in the weeks to follow,” the site claims.
“The same source confirmed, with official game documents in hand, that this will be the chronological sequel to what happened in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is the latest game in the now 16-years-old Elder Scrolls saga and by itself one of the better RPGs for PC and consoles.
“The sequel to Oblivion is coming, we can hereby confirm without hesitation. It's been a while since 2006, hasn't it?”
It’s said that the game is based on new tech that represents a far bigger jump than was seen in the step up from Oblivion to Fallout 3.

I know that 90% of the people reading this have been waiting for the game since ’06. And I know if this turns out to be false it’s going to be torches and pitchforks up my ass. So let me just say that this information comes from several different sources, and it’s not official.
On with it then. A person involved with the development of the game, within Bethesda has said that it is definitely in production, he went on to talk about the content of the game, very briefly, citing a Dragon Lord, Blades and that they are recording some voice acting this week. It’s confirmed that it’s a direct sequel of Oblivion, which is good news for all the fans. Due to some legal mumbo-jumbo, that you need not concern yourselves with, I can’t give you guys any information about who, where, how this info was disclosed. It’s expected that the game will release on all major platforms, and seeing as voice acting is being done right now, it’s likely to see a 2011/2012 release.

According to our Danish colleagues Eurogamer. Dk, the fifth installment of Elder Scrolls is in the works at Bethesda Game Studios. The game is well under way even as 90 people working on since 2 years.

Few details have filtered through the RPG, but it is whispered that Elder Scrolls V will be the chronological sequence of Oblivion, the latest installment in the series published in 2006.

There is talk of a Dragon Lord and the faction called "The Blades".

The engine used is a revised and hopefully corrected, that of Fallout 3. No date yet but it appears that a presentable version of golds already exists.

Wait ... Oh no, I'm forgetting something but no. You know everything. It's little and much, eh.

From French Eurogamer.

God I hope they bring back "The Blades".

I wonder if all this turns out to be true..... Hopefully we'll find out soon.
