Official TESV Speculation Thread #79

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:52 am

Would be amazingly cool if V took place in all the regions of Tamriel :hubbahubba:

Not really. The game would be at a loss of detail and if they made it as detailed as their past games, they'd spend about 30 years, and no one would wait for that.

The news officially started spreading from wildfire to zombie epidemic levels. Better yet is the [censored]storm from all the people reposting old info and the subsequent (but rightfully earned) [censored]ing.

Stay classy.

It's calming down.

I doubt we will hear anything in the immediate few days. I would however wager that an announcement is sooner rather than later. If' it's not announced by March then I'm going to slip into an Elder Scrolls induced depression.

Hello Ben
Hello Jerry

It's nice to see you again! :)

if you check http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/113/1136356p1.html it has new information about TESV, but it says "get ready to return to cyrodiil" their stupid! no elder scrolls title was in the same province! plus cyrodiil is the dullest province in tamriel! were they thinking when they posted this rumor? ridiculous! its most likely gonna be in skyrim! plus i want it to be in skyrim! winter is my favorite season!

actual untrue, since arena takes place in all of tamriel. plus theres Daggerfall which took place in High Rock and Hammerfell, and Redguard which also took place in Hammerfel, though only on Stros Ma Kai

Anyways back on topic, i doubt its true, my moneys on it being a simple rumour gone bananas like it did with E3 and the july Game Informer cover. and i even further i really dount it would be a direct sequel taking place in cyrodil after all the trouble theyve gone to with the Skyrim trade marks, it just doesnt make sense. Unless the Skyrim marks for whatever reason cant be confirmed and they havr to fall back to an older Cyrodil mark. But then again probably none of that is true, i dunno im just guessin

Just goes to show what rumours can do. There's some people that still think the game is going to be an MMO and thats even AFTER Bethesda themeselves said it won't be. I'm suprised how fast this ones spread though. It seems bigger than the last ones...

Probably it will be announced before the new year, remeber that there's no smoke without fire.I think it's a marketing move by Bethesda to put some light into the series before the big announcement.

Also it's from a legitimate publication, NAY, an editor-in-chief from the very same legitimate publication that gave that last insightful interview, Eurogamer, who claims, staking their journalistic reputation, that these things are very facts beyond dispute. That gets attention.

For the moment I hope they won't use Gamebyro, or force Steam on retail copies.

Todd already said that the next game is using gamebryo, so if these unofficial rumors turn out to be true, you can bet that it'll be on gamebryo.

About a day, I think. And it's been spreading like wildfire.

So its on about 60 websites at the moment I'd say. If the guy from Eurogamer is lying thats a pretty epic troll.

I theorize it's one of four things (Ordered from what I find most likely to least likely, 1 being most likely):

1) A ploy Eurogamer started, knowing other big sites would pick it up, pressuring Bethesda big time to announce it.

2) A leak set up between Bethesda and Eurogamer, trying to draw some attention back to TES before the announcement.

3) A rumor that has no real purpose other than "For the lulz", which would probably result in a firing or two at Eurogamer.

4) The story is true, and really did happen.

EDIT: Typo
