Official TESV Topic. Yes? No? Maybe?

No one knows for a "fact". It's built up, concrete speculation based on logical theories based on solid facts. You don't have to believe us.

...Why is Skyrim so "bad" to you, just out of curiosity?
Personally, Skyrim/Nords are my favorite race/province. I loved Bloodmoon. My favorite part of any TES game. But that's just me.

No, we know for a fact that the name "Skyrim" has been trademarked by Bethesda. We don't know if it it is for TES V or if TES V will take place in Skyrim, but we know that Bethesda trademarked the name "Skyrim" and has been renewing their trademarked since they obtained it. Antibody should be able to give the link proving it. I don't remember where I saw the trademark, but we know Bethesda trademarked that name.

I just can't stand playing the beast races. They just walk/look funny. It's almost like I can't take my character serious. It's a [censored] fish.

That's uh, kind of what I just said. They trademarked the name, leading more speculative theories to be had, and with those theories came certain release date theories, etc. So that's why we think it'll be set in Skyrim.

Why do so many people not care for Skyrim as a setting? If it's because they don't like Nords then that's not much of a reason, seeing as it most certainly will have plenty of other races in the game. If it's b/c of the landscapes, I don't expect it to be a snow covered frozen wasteland either. There surely will be snowy regions, but I know Beth is creative enough to give us lots of diversity in the game. After Oblivion, I'm sure they are looking for a completely different setting and not just more of the same. I think if we just wait for this game to come out we are going to see some impressive things visually we will enjoy.

Skyrim makes the most sense as they have contiinued to renew the trademark. Akivir doesn't make any sense. It's not even on the same continent as Tamriel. Maybe for a future game, but not TESV.

Oh surely they're just going to up and spend thousands of dollars getting lawyers to take their time to write the trademark up for Skyrim as a cover up. That makes sense.
/hey and tell me why the elder scrolls 5's trademark was Akivir?!?

It wasn't.

Click on that link. Click "search marks" in the orange/red column in the center of the site. Click "New User Form Search (Basic)". Type "Skyrim" (without the quotes, obviously), into the search bar and hit enter. Click the very bottom trademark (make sure to click "Skyrim" under the word mark column). Look at "Goods and Services". Skyrim is described as: "IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: Computer game programs; downloadable computer game programs offered via handheld computers, wireless telephones and mobile and wireless devices

IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Providing online computer games; providing online computer game programs offered via handheld computers, wireless telephones and mobile and wireless devices" and is also trademarked by Zenimax Media ("(APPLICANT) ZeniMax Media Inc. CORPORATION DELAWARE 1370 Piccard Drive Rockville MARYLAND 20850").

And, you being a new user, I'd like to let you know that the people of this forum enjoy being able to read what you write. So if you would try to slow down a bit and put spaces after your periods and use proper capitalization it will help us better understand what you mean and let conversation flow much more freely. :)

A cover up ? I don't think Bethesda would waste the money on a trademark.

All of Skyrim isn't snow, but all of Skyrim is frozen and a very large part of Skyrim is covered in snow

-Yea skyrim ist just a huge wasteland, The southern border appears tundra-like because its high elevation. As you should know Most Vvardenfell is pretty moderate temperature, and most of it is more north than skyrim...Im just not looking forward to Skyrim because it doest really let me picture anything special. However like in every game Bethesda makes,it always comes out good. The bad thing is how bethesda often makes the game smaller. In morrawind, originally, the whole provence was to make it in the game. But then only Vvadenfell. But if you know why they did that its because of the detail they put in the game.BTW, why does Vvardenfell feel bigger than cyrodill?..the answer is because of speed in that game, and theu actually did make its scale, the real size, as in a map in the elder scrolls main site.Sorry my keyboard is very hard to type well on.

!When I was going crazy for the game I saw it was Akivir! It kinda made me mad.But whatever :( ...And they dont need to actually spend money to make a cover up.all they need is License to do-so(which the license costs money too,but not that much). It doest even matter. This is supposed to be about TES5 anyways.Even though I brought it up(I was trying to make a point)!

I'd cut down on the quad post. >_> Put all of your info into one post, if you need to add more, do a multiquote, and edit your previous post.

Can't we all just stop arguing and actually have a speculative and grammatically correct conversation about when and if we are going to get a TES V?

When: We don't know. I believe TES V will be released in late 2011 or early 2012.

If: Yes, we will get TES V, eventually.

hmm...i just had a thought. and it seems to me like common pennies.

beth has been workin on tes5 for a long while now most likely some of theyre team for about 4 yrs, and the whole team for about 2 yrs.
theyre not going to make an announcement until theyve got a nearly finished product, because the want to show something really fricken sweet, and then delay and remove really sweet stuff. yup that what i think.

Well, in the Oblivion showing at E3 they had shadows (not even in the end result) and there was no jerk-off of a dark elf dude in the cell across us. So, you never really know what they're going to show.
