Best info: tavern brawls, partly destructible environment!
Worst info: getting married, restoring enchantments with soul gems like in Oblivion.

Wait unitill the game is out before you pass an assertive judgement on marriage.

I understand where you're coming from, can even relate to it, but the marriage feature can't be assessed beforehand, conceptually, imho.

It can be implemented with sense and grace, disastrously and anything in between.

Im completely and utterly disappointed with all the changes

Worst Info: Getting Married, Cuirass and Greaves in 1
Best Info: Race Specific Animations. Only positive thing in the interview really...
Would have prefered it not to come, so I could keep on hoping the rumors aren't true...

Whats with people assuming the marriage will be the same as Fable? If you're making decisions now about the game and whether or not you're buying it before you get more info, I suggest you **** off, n'wah.

The thing is, i've never seen marriage or relationships done well in a game. Ever. It always turns out shallow, meaningless, corny, lame, gimmicky, etc. The reason for that is, games are cabable of generating a lot of emotions - fear, happiness, wonder, excitement, etc. You experience these emotions through the eyes of the character you're playing as. But you can't really experience love, or a deep emotional attachment to an NPC through the eyes of your character. It will always be a shallow and meaningless feature.

I liked the expansion of your PC appearance, gender/racial specific animations, partially destructible environment and bar brawls.

I was disappointed with the lack of major branches in the main quests and the need to recharge magic items (why are armour enchantments permanent and weapons not?). By far the worse news for me was the lack of a 64bit exe, which is galling for some of the same reasons Kermit mentioned.

Everything else was of minor consequence to me, or at least design decisions I agreed with. However, unless they are keeping some major revelations under their hat, I'm beginning to feel that Skyrim will not be quite the evolution in terms of game play, roleplaying depth and cultural uniqueness I'd hoped for. I'm sure it will still be an improvement, just not quite as far-reaching as I'd dreamt. ;)

The poll options don't quite say how I feel. I want to play the game Bethesda wants to make. After that, I'll know how it felt. If I became immersed, if I had fun, nothing that's going on right now in these forums will mean much of anything. I hope everyone can find their happy place. :) It's a game.

There were many dissapointing news for me, but also some good ones.

Good: taverns brawls, player houses, racial differences
Bad: armor in 1 piece, no spears and no logical reason why they aren't included, no mark & recall, less branches in quests (this is a rpg), Oblivion's recharging system

Some people were really in denial about armor, even though it was quite clear they were combined(we had 3 sources) they still thought it was all a lie/misinterpreted.

The only thing I am disappointed about is that there is no 64 bit version for pc, why!? With some mods its really helps to use the memory. And there are often issues with the patches to make games use the extra ram.

I am please to hear about Tavern Brawls, that along with the bards(finally) should makes tavern feel alot more lively and tavern like. I hope there is a drunken animation.
Marriages are neat, but no big deal(I guess some people are against them because of the dev time spent on them, I don't see any other logical reason, there optional afterall).

It was nice to hear Todd talk about the pc version(even though its all stuff we knew anyway, its just hearing over and over again that there all the same gets annoying).
I like the fact that all races are the same speed, in MW when I played recently I used a tweak via MW code patch that made the base movement speed the same for each race. As for not being able to make yourself faster(except for extending sprint time) I don't have an issue, I don't see it making the game any less fun for me.
Different body types, yippie! We have not heard anything about this since GI and I was starting to think it was an error(like that 20 town thing).

Voted "What Q & A'. As far as I can tell the new info isn't that great or the answers have been logically concluded beforehand. It leaves me with one new important question that should be asked. What exactly are the developers working on??

Meh - Armor combined, The Q&A in general

Right now? Balancing issues and UI. Then guess marketing has to be in there somewhere. Rest? Not heard.

I've been a member for 3 months, browsed the forum for 1 month approx and I'm already sick and tired of it. I just don't understand why it seems like everyone on the forum hates the games, as all I hear is whining. for every positive/optimistic comment/opinion there's 5 pessimistic. And people don't even seem to bother discussing it.

I'm not sure if I'll be back before happily playing Skyrim in peace. Have fun whining

I am disappointed about merged armor and continued lack of regeneration for enchanted weapons but other than that I'm happy.

3) Is armor handled like in Oblivion (with each body part being welded together) or in Morrowind (with each body part separate)? Will you be able to wear both clothes and armor at the same time?
Matt: The armor system is very similar to Oblivion’s. The main difference is that the upper and lower body armors, the cuirass and greaves, have been combined into one piece. This helps create armor styles that have the look we needed for Skyrim. In most of the Nordic designs we created, the upper armor would completely cover the lower armor, making it unnecessary. We get much better visual results combining those pieces, and it renders a lot faster too, so we can put more people on screen, so that was an easy tradeoff for us. We can also make a lot more armors now, so the number and variation types are more than we’ve ever had.

reread the Q&A and noticed this. this just ticks me off to no end. i was able to run AEVWD, qarns texture packs, the oblivion npc addon mod (forgot what it was called), body and face replacers along with weapon and armor texture replacers. all with a 3 year old PC. they are saying the only way they could get more than the paultry number of npcs on console was to combine armor.

But not every one uses it on PC :o

Also to me that means they should be able to do larger scale battles right?

Well... I don't really know. Part of me want's to think relationships could be okay, but mainly I can't help but feel worried about your spouse being as computer-ish as everyone else and interactions will be rather lacking. Maybe I'm wrong but... we'll see.

The tavern fights are great- I can think of so many fun RP-ing methods with this mechanic. Dragon armor may be fun, but playing nearly entirely as a mage detracts from that (I find magic just...fun). Oblivion style recharging doesn't bother me, what with playing mages all the time. Still... the marriage thing... why not spears? I had plenty of fun with them in morrowind...

what it means is that we are going to end up with empty cities again cause the consoles cant handle very many npcs at one time. the major cities are all supposed to be the size of imperial city in oblivion so unless they plan on at least doubling the npcs at a minimum they are going to be ghost towns again.

as for large battles........youll never see this on consoles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2zetAsSwv4&feature=related

I'm quite happy with the Q&A. We learned some new things, and somethings we have long suspected to be out have been confirmed out. I like the fact that our spouse will move in with us and we can go adventuring with some close friends. I'm happy body sizes have been confirmed. I'm slightly disappointed by the fact greaves are out, but honestly I didn't mix armor sets often, and when I did it was because I couldn't find the one piece of armor.

Overall everything's fine. Would've preferred some other questions, but that's just me. The one most intriguing element is the romance and marriage feature. Very intriguing  . There's going to be A LOT of speculation about it before release and EVEN MORE discussion afterwards.
