Official "when And If We Will Get TES V "

Post » Wed Mar 17, 2010 1:58 pm

Aye, TES is a popular series. It's been a few years since Oblivion came out, but it's a very popular game and people will be very interested in it if gets announced. Everytime Bethesda is mentioned in an article somewhere, there's always a flurry of comments asking for a TES V. But yes, it could easily be another game. We'll see.

Other than TES V, Age of Empies IV is the only other game that could "blow me away." If its neitherr then IG can "blow me away"

Just to clarify, Game Informer usually announces their cover on the 4th or 5th of the month, so we shouldn't expect an announcement until the at least the 1st of each month.

Yes, you're right, but at the moment, seeing as we don't know what any of them are, they all have an equal chance of being the announcement issue.

It could certainly be a lot of different games.

It's surprisingly popular actually, at least from what I've seen.

Really? I don't know one person in real life that likes any of TES games(or has even heard about the series), including Oblivion, except for my brothers. Everything where I live is always about Call of Duty, Halo, GTA, or many other popular series, but no Elder Scrolls, not even (the so-called FPS or action game)Oblivion.

You're all making me sad with your "it's going to be an over-hyped game, not TESV" posts. I might cry :cry:

True, and this surprises me too. TES's popularity is enormous, but IRL I almost never hear anyone talk about it. Then again, everyone I talk to at college just goes on about WoW so I can't expect much else

not trying to kill the speculation that developed here but as previously mentioned the tweet said that the gameinformer.com update is going to blow us away. Not the magazine. Sorry, just got tired of everyone saying about how TESV announcement "will blow us away".

Huh? There will be a TESV, but I'm not sure why you asked that in relation to that post. :blink:

I think not many people talk about in public because of how nerdy it is. Honestly, if my friends knew I spend my spare time playing or researching a game about Wizards, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, and a Polytheist religion then... well then I wouldn't have friends anymore.

Thank you for clarifying that. It was getting a bit hot around here. I am still left wondering what awaits after the last "TESting Your Knowledge" trivia question next week. It would seem too anti-climactic for this to be a prelude to the big announcement (I am predicting something more akin to Oblivion's countdown), so I'm more inclined to expect the second book's announcement if anything.

This is an interesting moment as it could go several different directions here shortly.

I just hope that the mmo rumors turn out to be just rumors.I honestly cant think of a worse type of game.

"The Elder Scrolls" mainstreamed and made into a boring,static world,and horribly balanced pvp system.And for all you online bullies there will be a stealth mechanic(

Assuming it is announced before then, the next GI has a 1/4 chance of announcing it. The one after that has a 1/3 chance, then 1/2, and then the next after that has a 1/1 or 100% probability. I think. Numbers aren't my forte'.

I like numbers, and this is using the issue dates only. And I saw the update about the twitter update, I just have a point to make.

1/4 -> 25% chance of an announcement in month 1
3/4 * 1/3 -> 25% chance of an announcement in month 2
3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 -> 25% chance of an announcement in month 3
3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2* *1/1 -> 25% chance of an announcement in month 4

Math just said only time will tell.

Read through the this thread please. As has been mentioned already in several places, Bethesda Game Studios DOES NOT MAKE MMO'S. If there is an MMO in development, it is under Zenimax Online - a completely different team. Therefore, whatever game ZO is making will have no bearing on what Bethesda is making.

As for your opinions of the last game, your suggestions are better posted http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082671-tes-v-ideas-and-suggestions-thread-%23158/.

Back to speculation...

What makes us think there will even be an announcement any time soon?
For all we know, the TESting your knowledge could just be a sign of the lack of things happening round bethesda. THey arent releasing any BGS games, so they have to find some way to keep their readers interested.

True, I do believe TESting Your Knowledge is a device to maintain and heighten interest around TES. However, I do not believe that is its sole purpose. It seems odd that they would have this little trivia thing going and then stop with little attributable purpose beyond garnering interest.

They've clearly indicated that next week's question will be the last. If it is merely an interest-generator, then will there be something else to replace it in fulfilling that purpose?

I assumed they were just drumming up interest in the novel. I hope I'm wrong and there is some sort of other announcement.

Until they indicated next week would be the last question, I thought perhaps it would lead to the game's announcement this summer. However, now I'm not sure because I still don't expect an announcement for a few more months. The notion that the questions are leading up to the second book's announcement is now a distinct possibility.
