Looks like Bethesda Softworks http://www.e3expo.com/exhibitors/92/exhibitor-list/. I wonder if they'll be showing off just Brink and Fallout: New Vegas, or TESV as well? A man can dream...

I can dream too.

I do hope we get something. Even if its a obscure text only teaser trailer that says:

200 years after another game we made.

In A World Youve Visited Before.

You will SAVE THE WORLD......

mabie we will get something before e3. THere is still a April and May GameInformer to be shipped...

Well they didn't actually announce Fallout 3 or Oblivion in GameInformer, and I don't think they did with Morrowind either. So GameInformer doesn't really factor into the equation. They announced Oblivion via a countdown on their website so they might do the same with TESV

But yeah, I really wish they would just announce it already. It wont hurt them in any way...

It wont hurt them in any way...

It would sap them of their primary power-source.

I'm still looking at PAX East in March. It will be about a week after the 4 year anniversary of the release of Oblivion. I think that may be a prime time for Beth to announce TESV.

We wont be any more eager than we are now. If anything, if they wait any longer people may start losing interest.

I won't. I will wait as long as I have to for TES V. The longer I wait, the sweeter TES V will be. However, if I wait too long, I might start to go insane. As much as I am willing to wait, I want to learn something about TES V.

Going by the little information we have: that for the last year most of Todd's time has been dedicated to revamping their engine; and that the trademark for Skyrim must be used by August of this year, my money is on the following:

1) Brink is the game with the most show-time, probably with playable booths.

2) New Vegas has gameplay footage shown but not playable to the press and public, similar to Oblivion at E3 2006.

3) Todd's "next big game" is revealed with a teaser trailer, similar to how Brink was unveiled a couple of days before the E3 of last year.

That covers all the bases a developer could ask for. Gameplay available for an imminent game, Gameplay footage for a game with a huge hype metre, and a teaser to start a brand new hype train (for all those gamers that don't lurk in this section of Beth's forums) :P

Chances are that it is TES:V. Chances are that it will be announced, and we will get the confirmation that we've all been asking for. Chances are that we've all been lying about how confirmation of the game's existence is all that we're after, and the forums will be full of complaints about how little information we received about TES:V at E3.

I still hold that we won't hear anything for at least several months after the 2nd book is released.

Unless they decide to start a new IP or bring back Call of Cthulcu, then i'm guessing that it has to be TES that they are currently working, taking all that we already know like how they have spent a lot of time 'tweaking' the engine and remembering some of the older stuff like how they recently hired a couple of marketing, graphics and video developers, we can only guess that TES V is getting closer.

Honestly? Honestly!?!

People please. Bethesdas working on something, that is a absolute fact. Now what that is we can only guess, but the fact that they have been quiet for a couple years, even less with FO3 does not mean the end is nigh.
Just put a smiley face on (:)) and wait it out with me.

This is silly. There was a 6-year gap between Daggerfall and Morrowind. There was a 4-year gap between Morrowind and Oblivion. It has now been 4 years since Oblivion.

Considering how Oblivion turned out, I'm kind of hoping we get another 6 year gap :).

Doing TES properly takes ridiculous time.

Despite it's flaws, Oblivion is a great game. 4 years is enough time for a good Elder Scrolls game. Daggerfall and Morrowind weren't developed for 6 years(spin-offs in between the two), and they are great. If TES V is to have 6 years of development, then we would still have 4 years of waiting left(Fallout 3 took about 2 years).

And alongside that, if TES V is to have a 4 year development, we have 2 years of waiting.. lots of time left :)

Really, this is one of the reasons I play ironman and other rules that make the game more difficult. I'm probably not even going to have beaten the game once before the next comes out :D

Only reason I'm surprised it's taking so long is the cost of production. At least, in terms of paying the people developing the game. The longer it's in development, the longer you have to pay the developers.

But development isn't even what's bothering me. I'm just getting insulted that they won't give us a single bit of information. We're still just straight up guessing that the game's in development.

Bethesda has, and will always, work that way; You'll be grateful for it when they show up out of left field and smack us upside the head with screenshots and videos and previews and interviews and we're all crapping our collective pants.

My guess is it will be shown at E3 and released in the fall. What bothers me is the 200 year gap. The Elder Scrolls has always been consecutive time frames relatively. This is going to completely throw out all the lore and possibly add in technological advances that would have naturally been invented in a 200 year time frame - it won't be The Elder Scrolls anymore; all the people we have come to know and love gone - Argh. (grumble grumble)

No worries, they know some people don't like it. But Beth has a strong and effective hype machine and when they'll announce their newest Elder Scrolls project, you'll most likely change your opinion real fast and, instead, drool over their screenshots and magazine previews. ;)

And the time it takes to develop their games is pretty much the same standard of the industry. You simply think it takes more time because they work in secret until 3/4th of the game is completed.

*yaaaawwwwn*

I just woke from a 3 year slumber. So there's going to be another TES game? Meh. Anything like OB and I'm not interested. It's what turned me off the series, and these here forums.

I'm gonna go lurk now, and learn some more. Just thought I'd pop in! :D
