At least Ubisoft leaked Beyond Good & Evil footage (or it was a very good hoax), even if they haven't announced the game.

I'm honestly thinking of becoming fans some other game such as these that actually announces their games and giving up on TES. I don't really need them to announce the sequel as soon as the game has been released, but this is getting quite ridiculous.

I'm as eager for an announcement as anyone but I don't understand how some of you are so ready to give up on Bethesda. It's not like you wont be back as soon as the next game is announced. Sure, it svcks that Bethesda doesn't announce or show off it's game until it has something to show, but there's nothing we can do about it. Every day that passes without an announcement will make the eventual announcement that much better.

Treat by liberally applying past ES titles to the afflicted area, administering relaxation techniques, and confronting the patient with the logic that their abandonment of TES will vaporize as soon as an announcement comes.

Its because they have nothing to release. They havent even started production on TESV and have not even a screen shot or artwork to leak to us. They said it might be made in the far future, but that doesnt mean to say they've actually started working on it yet. And they dont want to tell us that cause if they do, everyone will leave.

It could have all been avoided if they would just tell us the truth.

They've either been working on a new game at least since October 2008, or they've been doing nothing but sitting on their asses as they slowly sunk closer and closer to bankruptcy since then. Which do you think is more likely?

It shouldn't. Think of how long the wait was between Daggerfall and Morrowind. And they didn't even have to deal with making another game during that time, like they did with Fallout 3.

If you guys really think Bethesda hasn't even started making TESV, then so be it. It's a ridiculous notion, but believe what you want. Bethesda has got to announce something this year, because Bethesda isn't the kind of developer to let a year go by without the public knowing something. For example, in 2009, they were developing Fallout 3 DLC, so we knew what they were making. In 2008, we knew they were making Fallout 3. We don't know what Bethesda is doing at the moment, and I'm confident that the year wont end without an announcement.

That's completely understandable, but people who are growing impatient don't have to post in threads like this just to say "I'm done with TES" or "They must not be working on TES." Complaining about it isn't going to make them announce it any faster.

If they had stopped making TES games, don't you think they woud have lost lot's of money from not working? If they are not making TES 5 then they are making some other epic game.

It has been confirmed that Beth is working on (to quote Todd Howard himself) a "big game." We just don't know for sure if it is TESV or not.

I am upset that they haven't released any info, since more than likely the game will be released no sooner than one year after it's announced, meaning we are 1-year-plus away from TES V. However, I will be more than placated as long as the flaws of Oblivion are fixed.

personaly i think that it will be pushed back to to 11 or 12 unless they reveal some solid gameplay at E3 this year

It does seem to happen with a lot of fandoms, when nothiong's going on people say "Oh they'll never do it this company and everything it does is http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuinedFOREVER only for the offending parties to return, acting like it never happened, even mere seconds later. It's at least fun to watch.

But yes, Bethesda is smart. And since they are smart, they wouldn't just let a big-name, money-making series like this fall away and die. The books seem to be evidence of this, they're trying to give us an appetizer.

The books seem to be a good sign, as are the free dl's on the Beth site (or wherever they are). A friend of mine recently told me that he had read something to the tune of "there will be no TES5, they're working on an MMO instead." My friend is usually reliable but I really hope that this time he's wrong. I had heard that Zenimax online was doing something, but I had hoped that Bethesda proper was working on something else entirely.

As of now TES and Fallout are Bethesda's only successful IPs. Because Fallout 3 came out in 08, and New Vegas will be out this fall, we can definitely cross a new Fallout game off the board of games they could be working on. Now the only options are:

A new Elder Scrolls game,

or a completely new IP.

Bethesda knows that TES appeals to a huge audience, and that no new IP could possibly excite the amount of people that Elder Scrolls V could. So if Bethesda's main goal is to make money, TES: V is without a doubt the best option.

Like how, as we seem to be assuming, after finishing Oblivion they were working on fallout 3 proper and TESV pre-production. It seems to be a reliable hypothesis for the moment.

Elder scrolls 5 needs to be announced very soon then. In a few months.
