Officially Bored

Post » Wed Jan 27, 2010 6:46 am

Been playing fallout for soooo long, mods just don't keep it fresh anymore. We haven't had an update on DLC's for so long except the constant denial of releases. I'm migrating over to oblivion which I'm playing for the first time right now. Be back when there's a new announcement!

I've played Oblivion. Didn't like it that much but that's probably because i was lost most of the time xD

Been playing New Vegas since release, not constantly of course, and I'm just getting to my energy weapons Mr.House character now. Then again I play other games in the mix where as some of you play just fallout so i can see how it gets boring after what? 6 months?

Well welcome to the crew...

But all in all you can make your gaming experience alot better.

1. BY NOT PLAYING THAT GAME NONSTOP. If you have other games play them...just because you have Fallout doesnt mean you have to play it all the time.

2. Play it every so often.

3. Be creative!!

4.And vary in the games you play alot. Dont just play one all the time.

What Ace said. I had completed the main quest for all the factions and now I RP a caravan/farmer who live in a ranch next to Bonnie springs. I have downloaded a mod that disables fast-travel so I actually discover alot more then I use to. Right now im just enjoying being on the ranch, take care of the plants and the cattle, hunting bighorners and smoke cigarettes :)

new vegas doesn't give you a lot of reasons to keep playing it for months or years like other games do, it was a good game but the desert is pretty empty and there just isn't a lot going on for the size of the map, no random events, no random encounters, all the spawns are predictable, the game is like a book and its the same every time, even if you choose different factions to join, it really doesn't change anything, its not the story thats the problem, its the map environment thats boring.

nobody is making you read the "boring" game threads. the game doesn't have a lot of replayability and the desert is just way too empty.

Doesn't have alot of replayability? Doesn't have alot of replayability?!?!?!?! 4 endings, so many different ending slides, different character builds, various different ways to complete quests and different ways to play out the endings ( Better, worse) etc. etc...

you don't get it...end game slides have NOTHING to do with the static game world, no random encounters, no random events, hardly any enemies on the map, you're neutral to everyone, no super mutants to kill, no raiders to kill, no enclave or equivelant to fight, most of the map world is very empty and you think just because the game has different end game slides that somehow thats gonna offset the boring map world, well obviously it doesn't cause the game has lost its mass appeal and threads keep popping up on how boring the game becomes after a short time, so obviously the game has some serious flaws.

Hardly see how a dungeon has more replayability than a quest.
A dungeon is over once you've gone through it, ain't gonna be much else to do down there the other playthrougs except farm exp and loot mediocre crap.
A quest, which New Vegas has an abundance of, can offer various scenarios.

See what I meant was that you should go out there and do quests in 20 different ways with different factions to see what the different ending slide combos are. I know I've done it quite a few times, definetly adds replayibility if you ask me.

I'd write more about it but really I just don't care to argue today.

Came to think...... nevermind

Well,

If I want to go to dungeons, I preffer games like Diablo or Dungeon Siege, wich are the only games where they use the term "Dungeon Crawler" in the good way, or MMORPGS

Fallout is about Consequences, and reconstruction of the society after the apocalypse

Yet another Bored of Fallout New Vegas thread. I would go with what Ace said some posts back. Play something else, like Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics then come back to New Vegas :fallout:

Why do we need to have these stupid New Vegas vs Fallout 3 threads? Its getting old people.

This.

*looks up at chalkboard*

*grudingly places another tally mark on it*

So the official tally of how many "vs" threads we've had is.......a whole helluva lot. :glare:

By "bored" I believe we generally mean that we're tired of these kinds of threads degrading into fighting about the games.
