A old Gamer Story for Bethesda

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2009 8:29 pm

Hi, Bethesda. First i give you my respect for your work. I prefer presenting me before going on.

I'am a old gamer not in age cause i'am only 21 but in time. I first play Fps so i can't tell that i try some stuff like Atary computers but i don't care. My first fps was Wolfenstein 3D and then Doom, quake, those good old duke (whom disapears^^). Later i bought the playstation and try FinalF7. Since i have tried so much game on comptuers and consol like half-life , Enemy territory, Quake 3, thief the dark project, warcraft 3, diablo 2, starcraft. I'am a hardcoegamer when i have a new game, so i want to say that WoW is not for me cause it's so boring when you are at the last level then i prefer stop. I have told my life cause i'am going to allow me to give you some advice for the add-on ( And it must have an add-on). With all my respect.

-Qualities :
Fps and Rpg not boring at all, wonderfull. I finish the game in 1 session but i tried again te see more, Much More.
Some Harcore Good Trip like Fatman haha. Beautifull explosion. A gigantique universe wich give you the sessation that you don't want to leave. What else i don't know just the feeling of a game very sp?cial. Something which need to live a long time.
Ho just a detail : I first thought Vats useless but i finally use it cause a the system of weapon accuracy of low stat and reduction of damage and mainly cause of the beauty of the effect. And the loadings :)kiss.

-Probleme and advice :

I think i am more Fps so i will start with this part :
*You need to create i intelligent switch system for the weapon in fight.
*The caractere have to run a litlle faster by default and care a litlle more weight it should be more fun for the gamer who want to discover the game.
*There is not enough ennemies in lot of place.
*We don't have to care about Xbox360 and PS3.

Then Rpg and the game in general idea
*You have to unlock by default the number of lvl.
*You have to give more obligation for the player to do alternate quest and tourism in the map to get lvl and weapon. Like increasing the difficulty the more you are far from the 101, Or make some alternate quest obligatory for the main quest, or give a lvl cap for a quest.
*More reazlism with the [censored]:). I won't go there cause i don't waste my money and my time if it's waste but i prefer steampak and ammo. But it's money so i want for my money cause i'am the character if you saw what i mean. Send-me a e.mail if you do :=).
No more parental [censored] stuff and censor. It doesn't go with the spirit of the universe.
*You really must think that the player have to keep in mind to visit this violent, deep and gigantic universe, otherwise he will die cause he is too weak against the others cause i don't have any ammo at all or the enemy are really inkillabale and accurate.

That was my point of view of the probleme of the game. First time i play i was wondering if there was lot of place on the map. So i play again for visiting. At the end of this session i type tmm1 and i have been stoned. Give more reason to visit.

I feel the need to tell that cause it has been a longtime that a game do not give me this sensation of deepness : when i'am in the real world dissapear and your under the apocalypse and the time means nothing. Perhaps bioshock but not at this point. I hope you are going to live a long time cause this kind of production is really pr?cious. It must have taken a long time but it could be so much better with not much effort.

Bye and see you in ten years for the fallout 4.

Ps: But It don't mean that we don't need add-on :P.

I'm sorry, but at 21 years old you are not an "old" anything. You've obviously been gaming most of your life, fair enough, but that doesn't make you special on a message board full of gamers.

*You need to create i intelligent switch system for the weapon in fight.

The customisable hotkey system seems more than adequate to me.

*The caractere have to run a litlle faster by default and care a litlle more weight it should be more fun for the gamer who want to discover the game.

Hmmm. Thing is, it's an RPG. If you want to run faster and carry more stuff, distribute your skill points accordingly. You have to make sacrifices elsewhere, but if you want a completely maxed character from the start you might as well go play Far Cry 2.

*There is not enough ennemies in lot of place.

Again, it's not an FPS. The whole environment isn't supposed to be crawling with enemies to shoot.

*We don't have to care about Xbox360 and PS3.

Well, like it or not, Bethesda do. PC snobbery is the worst kind of lunacy on these forums.

Hyperbole on my part ;)

But it's pretty ridiculous, don't you agree? The idea that one's chosen platform is somehow more worthy of someone else's, or that making such a choice elevates one above console players? Or, most despicably, that people on different platforms shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the same games as you?

I think that each platform has something in advantage over the other platforms, and that some games are better suited for a specific platform.

I don't think that any platform is above the others, but they are very different.

P.S; Props for spelling http://how-to-spell-ridiculous.com/ correctly. ;)

When you say add-on, do you mean a fallout expansion? hmm... none of the Fallouts have ever had an expansion. Right? I think that would be a bit untraditional. I'm content with FO3 as it is give or take a few quirks. And there is no need to rip on this guy for looking down on consoles, we just all must remember that we can only play with what is available to us. My computer isn't awesome enough for FO3 so I played it on my Bro's 360 when I visited him, I enjoyed myelf. Some of us just don't have the money for the things we want, so I'm sure if, let's just say some guy named Patchy were to be playing on his girlfriend's console, then he would be very greatfull Bethesda stretched out to consoles with Oblivion and Fallout 3. :hehe:

Heh. Fanboyism is a blight on gaming, but it's not new. Back in the mid 80's we had C64 and Spectrum die hard fans.... You grow out of it though. 90% of them are kids whose parents only buy them 1 console.

And on topic, the mods you go on about can already make the game like a pure fps. Increased spawns, combat overhauls, actually there's one mod that is designed to make it more fps style.

Don't brag about the PC getting mods then crying to Bethesda to make the game more action oriented!

In fact i would mean that focusing on pc will just give you a better game at the end that's all. And don't tell me that a console can equal the possibilities of a pc. how long ago was the last consol released. Should better wait for the next gen. :=)

Finally my last word will be that i know about the mods and i don't want at all a fps even with a little more mob at each time in difficult places. No more spawns it's useless. in fact the change would be for a few more xp and difficulties. Exemples :
When i have first seen the behemoth i have just gotten the fatman. he was behind me i returned and shot with vats in his chest. he was near to the death and i finished him in 5 seconds. (Stronger mob or 2 behemoth?).
