Old gear mods scraping gear

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 3:35 am

Scraping gear is pretty useless as all you get is the most basic component item used in it and nothing else....even if up to 15 different kinds of components were used to make it.

Old mods swapped out when making an new mod. They become an inventory item that all you can do with is sell for caps =.= Can not swap into other items, can not reconvert into components for reuse.

Did someone forgot a rather BIG step in the crafting system here? If your a heavy crafter you WILL end up using up all the components outside of " Wood " and " Steel " there is. Because as you start getting farther in...you start regretting modding anything as the components used dry up and get turned into useless garbage that serve nothing but recycle for caps and you can no longer really craft anything else o.O ???

If you need a skill for it...it tells you. If you need a station for it, the workshop mode will list it.

WHAT is missing ????

It's like crafting goes one way. Junk found makes a mod...but the cycle of crafting stops there.

Selling stuff for caps, little point as crafting comes up more useful as the economy in caps is so heavily in the vendors favor. You buy for 300% the value and sell for 10% value ><

I foresee this being one of the first general use mods developed when the Creation Kit is released - junking/recycling weapon mods.

And guess what, PS4 and Xbox One fans, this time YOU get to benefit too! ^_^

Completed mods stored in the Workshop can be swapped back onto your weapons and will be prioritised as such. The Scrapper perk gives you less common and rare components when scrapping weapons or armor. Also, adhesive can be crafted at a cooking station using food ingredients. Hope this helps :)

Mods are weapon type specific, so a mod for the laser rifle doesn't fit the plasma rifle and vice versa. Sadly this is partly kinda ridiculous, with mods for the standard pipe gun not fitting the revolver or bolt-action variants, and similar issues.

Yes you can reslot mods, but ONLY the weapon they came out of...not even the same class but the exact item ID one >< One mod gets kicked out of a 10mm Pistol and you can't place that mod into a different 10mm Pistol =.=

As for making Adhesive at a cooking station, that needs to get listed right off...as some people will simply ignore that part of crafting as they wont be crafting food/boosts. There are those that just craft weapons/armor and what ever a quest tells them to.

With out having Scrapper Perk...you should get at least something more then just the 1 most common item when scrapping.
