Old grandpa rants...

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 9:23 pm

Okay here are the rules of this thread, each thread has to sound like an old man ranting about something.

These damn kids and their blue ray x-ray disc gaming devices! Back when I was kid we used 16-bit cartridges and had to blow hot air and cold air to get the damn Nintendo working!

Nooo nooo nooo... the whole point is to try and sound like an old grandpa complaining or ranting about something. Or an old granny complaining and ranting about something...

If I was going to rant about old grandpas I'd be complaining about how slow they drive and how many buildings they crash into...

I lied...ready?

Weeel, when we was young, we had to stuff a folded matchbook cover behind the channel changer dial on the black and white, tube (that's a 'valve' in the UK) operated TV, because after a while the derned channel changer would wear out and it took a folder matchbook cover behind it just to keep it on the channel you wanted to watch. That's back when eeverybody smoked so there was plenty of matchbooks to be had.....Why, I saw the Beatles debut in the USA on the Ed Sullivan Show in '64 on a TV just like that.
.....and there was likely a lot of channel changin' goin' on that night, and that's how a lot of channel changer dials got worn out, I'm here to tell ye !
...an' nooobody had a hand-held channel changer. Ye actually had to git up and walk across the living room to change the derned channel !

You youngin's are jest spoilt !
