Old Keep

Post » Sun Jul 04, 2010 3:10 pm

I'm doing some research for a mod and have been trying to track down info on Old Keep with not much luck - searched UESP and TIL - so wondered if anyone here knows anything about Old Keep - it looks like a main tributary of the Thir river - I assume the Thir river was an important trade route from central Morrowind to Vvardenfell as it looks a lot safer and quicker than travelling around the coast

Specifically am interested in knowing which house it likely belonged to.

Any other info welcome

Thanks

Illuminiel,

This http://www.imperial-library.info/maps/concept_morrowind.jpg shows it as belonging to the Hlaalu (though its merit can be disputed, as the locations and allegiances of several key cities changed after its creation). There are, as far as I am aware, no additional textual references.

Thank you for the research Ayaan-si

I'm not sure all the cities show correct ownership as Necrom is shown belonging to Dres and I thought that was an Indoril city - TIL states that Narsis was an improtant city of the district but I thought that was a Hlaalu city? In any case the map was really good for showing the geography of the area - Old Keep was in the central plains and would seem likely to be an important shipping port.

Thanks again

Illumineil,

You are most welcome. As I have already mentioned much changed since the map's creation. Several cities were renamed, others changed allegiance, some even moved miles across the land. It does elaborate slightly on those locations about which we have no further information, which is always a blessing to lore-conscious modders.
