Old names for the Nedic Settlements/Cities

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 6:23 pm

Hello,
I am writing a few books for a mod I am helping with, some of them being a part of a series that takes place about a month before the fall of the Imperial City to Alessia. I remember that in some book or work of literature the names of many of the Cyrod cities around the time of the Ayleids were revealed (through piecing the clues together), but I cannot remember any of them at all. Help would be greatly appreciated in finding the piece in question. :)

Don't know for sure if this book is what you remember, but from your description, it could be the http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/songofpelinal.shtml. The book makes some references to Ayleid places like Ceya-Tar, Ninendava and Narlemae.

Yeah, those are Ayleid names. Maybe the read the Water-Getting Girl and the Inverse Tiger, that may have some Kothringi words in it, and you can Nedicize those to simulate the mixing of languages and tribes in a region that is suddenly full of cultural exchange between tribes. And when you give up and start making your own :D just try to make them vaguely familiar words with normal combinations of vowels and consonants, but neither Elvish or Roman(Imperial)and especially not Nordic. Mix Amazonia with Tajikistan.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Song of Pelinal. The thing talked about various human cities being liberated.
