While the wall thing was pretty for a couple of days, I am wondering when they will go back too the old (or new) site.

They'll go back to the old site when Game Informer is done releasing information and they decide to release information themselves. At the soonest? Tomorrow, being the last day of January and the end of the coverage. The latest? I'm guessing by GDC.

Though I don't think they'll go back to the old site. They'll probably have a newer revamped site with features akin to the old one. It's all for the sake of releasing new information before they need to start providing services.

I too hope the site is updated very soon. Skyrim was announced almost two months ago. It's time.
