Old Skool Fallout Armour in FO NV

Maybe it's the sunlight glancing off the armor but it looks more gray than black.
The model is great though.

Wow, I was just about to post the link to NMA. News travels fast. I hate to disappoint all you Enclave haters out there, but it looks like they made it in the game. Note the freshly painted Enclave symbol. That's no 100 year old armor. No way would there be new plasma weapons and relatively intact Enclave armor without some Enclave presence. Fallout 3 nuked the fridge with their Enclave element. Just accept that there might be a small remnant.

I'd quite like to see a small remanent of the Enclave in the game. I'm looking forward to meeting up with BoS again :)

It's supposed to look grey, the ingame model was wrong, the one on the box and in the cutscenes show how it should look. I'm glad they finally made Advanced Power Armor that actually looks like it always should have, FO3 and even FO2 never managed this.

But that logo...

Indeed the logo is a bit to Euro Blue (and i don't mean colour wise Euro's flag is blue but its the association we have over here, just a term) , black stars? perhaps suggest a/original link with the CIA maybe???? They're always inplacated with conspiracies lol

I would expect to see a few 60 year old remnant Enclave troops from the rig (guys who were patrolling around Navarro for example; came back and the base was destroyed ~and the rig).

I would expect them not to be too keen on letting anyone know their past allegiances, but I would expect that they kept their equipment (or know where some is cached).

(Plausible guesses on my part).

Not necessarily. Unless Obsidian added different visual appearances to armors depending on their condition and that's why the helmet is in such poor shape, I can't see the Enclave utilizing a helmet with cracked eye pieces.

It's just the commonwealth flag stars surrounding an E (for Enclave) instead of a larger star. I doubt the Euro look is actually intentional.

Is it cracked? (I thought it was textured to look ... maybe slightly cat like.)

**Edit:

Looks like it might just be grime..

@Talonfire #33: So can I. It looks like grunge/grime on the lens to me.
(and possible UV distortion/stretching on the right eye)

The pattern on the eye pieces looks like erratic battle damage to me. I could be wrong I guess.

I am happy Advanced Power Armour is back. I am not happy that there is an Enlave mark on it. I hope it has nothing to do with them. I hope the Enclave are not in this one. I really hope it's not called "Enclave Power Armour." Would be awesome if Advanced Power Armour Mk II is in as well.

“The Destruction of the Enclave erased all trace of President Richardson from history. Now the title of “President” is used as a boogeyman to frighten children.”

Why would it not have an Enclave emblem? Wasn't it the Enclave that built the Advanced Power Armors?

Still think that black works best for it.

Maybe a black version for a special ops group that worked during night?

Damn cool armor! :ribbon: :ribbon:

(Makes me glad I've got my own version though; directly compared... I like mine a bit better).

(though the textures are only just begun; and won't be bright yellow when complete)

Nice man good work, I prefer this Enclave Armor over the ones that were in Fallout 3. (It looks like something a Krogan from Mass Effect would wear.) :tops:

Epic win right there.

Also, the texture looks pretty weathered and beaten up. Since no self-respecting Enclave stormtrooper would let his armor decay to such a state, I suspect that the suit was looted from a bunker somewhere in mothballs.

Would be nice to be a little darker, but that's what retextures are for.

Yeah, they're supposed to look grey.

I think black would look too clean, and I don't think anything clean fits in the wasteland of Fallout.

Hopefully the suit can be recieved from an Ex Enclave member, and the Enclave arent in.

Agreed.

It's nice to see that armor making a comeback, but I can't say the same about Enclave should they be there too.

In the OP? It's the multiplas rifle I'd assume. May or may not be modded, or it's a modded standard plasma rifle.

Really like the look of the armour, and if you ask me whether the Enclave in fallout new vegas consist of a couple former members or a full fledged military base I know for certain that obsidian will handle it exquisitely

Is it just me, or does it look like they need to scale up the torso of the suit to match the head and arms? That would take care of the clipping on the tubes and with the arms. The proportions are just off. Still, looks absolutely amazing!

Good call, in Van Buren he was former Enclave and in the New Vegas description he has a "Mysterious Past". GEE WIZZ, I WONDER WHAT HIS MYSTERIOUS PAST IS?!

I have to be honest despite it possibly leading to me being :flamed: , That armor just looks silly to me. I preferred the fallout 3 enclave armor because in the case of non tesla armor it was not completely over the top. The over-sized and rounded appearance just looks cartoony. I know this game is not a serious simulation of anything, but It is not a cartoon. Although the added rust and weather stains counters it some.

The fact that most of the forum goers promote this look of armor and then go ranting and raving how things aren't hardcoe enough just baffles me to no end.

Super Mutants and Power Armor were always supposed to look a little silly, it wasn't until FO3 that everything suddenly had to look rad. 1950s pulp, not Gears of War, should be the core inspiration.
