Old song to dance to?

Post » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:56 pm

Okay so obviously I compete in pageant's... My talent this year I am dancing to Moondance by Michael Buble. (It's a "new" version of Van Morrison.) I also want to choreograph another song, do you have any suggestions that the judges will love? Thanks :) :dmc:

How old are we talking here? Lots of people kind of freak out when they tell me they like old music. In my mind old is like 20s-30s and I ask them if they like Big Band or swing and they tell me they meant classic rock (60s-80s). So I need clarification here.

I wouldn't consider it old or swing music, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mR0tzt9XaM&feature=related suits any occasion.

Well then here's a swing tune you can dance too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhyhP_5VfKM (love this one)

you might also be more interested in modern swing songs, which I would guess are really good for dancing. Here's some good ones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xphZkAiJve0 ( Basically ANYTHING by BBVD would work)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHWcN5YxuYc&feature=related

If you're interested in any more there's plenty where that came from I can tell you. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081014044138AARuMWy has a good list of swing and big band songs to dance to as well.

I love that song, very good rhythm and lyrics. Not to mention some great soloing from the band. If there are any videos of you dancing to it that will come up I'd love to see it.

Your sig says your miss Connecticut...like THE miss Connecticut? Or is that a smaller scale? Or am I confusing you because I have never seen a pageant and I dont know what I'm talking about?

Bar Room Hero, by Dropkick Murphy's. Though I don't know if it will work for your situation. Do you consider headbutting and slamming into people dancing?

I actually looked up Miss Connecticut and the Teen one and I didn't see anyone looking like her avatar. I'm not doubting her title or anything. I didn't even look that hard. I even looked up Miss Fat Smart Connecticut, since she said in the pageant thread that she participates in pageants that let 'the overweight, [sic] and actuall [sic] inteligent [sic] girls win.'

She could be hopeful of winning that title, and in that case, I wish her luck in that endeavor.

oh, I thought this is what she was referring to, I should ... ... get my pageant themes straight.
None the less, I'm done snooping, and on topic... I second the poster who suggested Rush.
