Post » Tue Mar 08, 2011 11:05 pm

Crossbows sure, guns no

why would you want it anyways.. you have magix

Once again

A small round bullet =/= a freaking fireball

and again for the record.. I voted no guns.

I'm gonna have to say no mate... I just don't believe it's what I look for whenever I buy a new entry in the series, and such inclusion would make a bit weary when it comes to the direction of Elder Scrolls as a whole.

Lol. The poll speaks for itself. No one wants guns in their ES. Every poll on this topic goes about the same way. I am of the opinion that fantasy games with guns are becoming a bit too common. I like TES the way it is, weapon-wise. I'd prefer magic over gunpowder any day, and I feel like guns would detract more from the overall setting than they'd add.

guns don't belong in a game like skyrim or the elder scrolls series. maybe if in future elder scrolls games the technology of the world greatly increases, but i'm sure they would not have developed guns yet.
i would LOVE like someone said earlier to have a crossbow!
plus, if they had guns but you wanted a bow also, you'd have to carry 2 different weapons, and at least 2 different ammo types. this would create a lot of weight for your character :S

The nine ten people who voted yes should be captured and tagged for future study. Perhaps a small microchip needs to be implanted in their flesh -- one with the ability to deliver a jolt of electricity to their nervous system whenever they attempt to play any title in the elder scrolls series. :shocking:

I want crossbows back, and throwing knives, stars, darts. Oblivion archery just wasn't complete without it.

For the sake of saving time, here's a quote of what I said in response to the almost exact same question a minute ago in another very similar poll:

FOR THE LOVE OF AZURA! This isn't goddamned Fable or some other lesser RPG. In case you haven't noticed, you wield 1,000 year old weaponry in TES universe. Dwemer weaponry and armor are a perfect example of this. And I better not need to explain why it's a great example. I'm not righting a damned essay here. Yes, Skyrim will have windmills, but that will probably be the only example of technological advancement in the game. TES is three-pronged: Magic, Combat, and Stealth. You're asking Bethesda to add a whole nother structural branch to the gameplay. It's kinda late for that, ain't it.

Here's the link: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179017-technological-advances/

To sum up, GTFO AND DIE, GTFO AND DIE, GTFO AND DIE!

This has got to be one of the most ballsy polls I've seen on here. Well done.

I had to vote not really because there was no option for "definitely not". But if you like the idea I would suggest you look into Risen 2, which I believe has primative guns instead of bows and cross bows. I should be a good game also. I'm looking forward to it.

I liek gunz

Pretty sure this is sarcastic (I hope so), because of his satirical use of "leik" and "gunz" with a z. If he is serious, :flamethrower: :cryvaultboy:

guns in skyrim?

No.
Go play Fable.

Besides, the most advanced civilization on the face of Nirn (the Dwemer) didn't even have guns...and now they're gone forever.
AND, the tech of Skyrim is less sophisticated than the tech in Oblivion...so...

Yeah. Just no.

I voted 'not really', but only because there was no option worded harshly enough to express the depths of my hatred for this idea.

The only type of gun I could see in Skyrim would be a Flintlock weapon, but to be honest, it ain't nearly as good as a bow. A bow I can reload quickly and actually hit my target. Gasp, what a concept! No. Explosives, sure. Shrapnel in explosives, alright. Shaped charged explosives, that's pushing it. Guns, no. There is no middle ground with a gun, it will either be overpowered, or underpowered. Me, I'll stick with my machete. A blade don't misfire.

I would be just as happy if gunpowder never, ever, came to the Elder Scrolls universe.

Ever.

Why is there no "Please, God, make there be no guns in Skyrim" option?

agreed very biased pole.. by the way fable one was awesome..fable two was horrible.. fable 3 was the worst game ever.. that series went to hell
