old style guns

@Dragonborn1: Yes, it is, though all I really needed wiki for was the specific dates. I knew the time frames well enough already without it.

I love Wiki. It's awesome.

No. Not gonna happen. Guns don't exist on Nirn.

Yes they do. It just so happened that the only ones with the technology are extinct...

Also, HELL NO

I'd like to first point out I'm anti-guns.

By that logic you wouldn't need any weapons.

Umm... what?

And as for Akavir, I assume that you equate that to ancient Asia/China? That is a mistake.

Any proof that the Dwemer ever developed firearms?

Why is there no "Please, God, make there be no guns in Skyrim" option?

Because the answers are phrased with biased.

No, no guns.

Everyone who's posted in this thread should be ashamed of themselves. First day, first post. You are in clear and dire need of fishy sticks. Bad post, but I admire your guts in posting this without making any attempt to see that there are -2347123412510923847129034612890375 topics on this already existing. Anyway. I got a similar reaction with my first thread. Some people just can't help themselves.

No! Nothing remotely like Fable! TES should stay as far away from fable as humanly possible.

I DISAGREE, SO I WILL FART IN YOUR FACE!!!

jk, I hate Fable as well.

If I can shoot fire out of my hands why would I need a bow?

Also how is it a mistake? It's a land of japanese styled weapons, it's obviously ment to be the mysterious east. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't have guns, I'm just saying I could see them with guns, which I can't with a breton or dunmer.

Don't feel bad, but know this. The gun topic is one of the top 3 (others being multiplayer and dragon riding(maybe)) topics that are extremely unpopular here. :)

I loved Fable I, and Fable II was very, very good, but III, I didn't like it. I particularly hated there apparent hatred for menus, I think the whole sanctuary system was way more unimmersive and clunky than having a regular menu. The first time I read about the changes to the menu system in the GI article, the Fable III menu system was my first thought.

On-topic (kinda): I didn't mean to offend, and I am sure no one else here did either, but we (at least I am) are rather vehement about the absence of guns in Skyrim. :)

What is the sanctuary system and how does it compare to Skyrims UI?

I agree with some others in the no to guns, yes to crossbow sentiment.

The closest Skyrim should get to gunpowder should be primitive explosives at the most, which could be the rogue's answer to the mage's fire, frost, and shock trap glyphs. A rogue could cook them up with ingredients and set them to explode to a tripwire or door.

Just think guns are a bit too much.

Because a bow is silent, easy to make, and it is faster than a fireball.

And it is a mistake to try to fit in all of the provinces in TES (or any fantasy, really) to areas or lands of our own world. Just because they make katanas doesn't mean that Akavir is Japan. The devs may have drawn inspiration from Japan for Akavir, but that doesn't mean they are going to have samurais, ninjas, and a feudal government. :toughninja:

Every time you hit pause, you'd teleport to the character's home base, of sorts.

But it DOES mean that, were there any of those things in the universe, they would be placed in the Akavir, since Akavir is MOST CLOSELY related to Japan. It's not that it DEFINITELY WILL HAVE GUNS FROM AKAVIR!!!! it's that, if it did have guns, they would be from Akavir.
