Old World Blues...is a saying used to refer to those who are obsessed with the past. The Big Empty is a fully functioning pre-war research facility, complete with experiments. Some horrific, some benevolent, all crazy. Old World Blues is a masterpiece of humorous dialog and backstory- it's pretty much a crime to click through the dialog and not read the notes. The gameplay itself is very well done, in my opinion. Plenty for the shoot em' up players to recklessly attack, plenty of strategizing for the rest of us.

As for the main storyline...the only thing I will say, since I won't give away spoilers, is: Curiosity killed the cat.

To effectively utilize Old World Blues, you should have high Science & Medicine, with points in Energy Weapons. Although anyone can benefit from visiting the Big Empty.

Old World Blues is amazing the first run, but any future runs, it's just an over drawn out fetchquest. The housing reward is okay, but eh.

I did my first play-through as unarmed/melee and explosives all maxed out. I had a lot of fun with the proton inversal axe. The funny thing is, I usually play as a high science and energy weapons character. I haven't had time to go through again with that build.

Nah, I'm on my second playthrough now, and I still can hardly control my laughter enough to remain in my chair.

Or rather, curiosity lobotomized the teddy bear.

Old World Blues is the most benificial DLC in the game. Cazadors,Nightstalkers, special melee weapons, special unarmed weapons, special guns, etc

It is amazing and fun even after playing it 3 times

Science is a very important skill for it

Old World Blues is HARD. But I've only ever started it around Lvl 6 or so. If I were to recommend for a Very Hard player, I'd say about Lvl 15 should be just fine.

hmmm.......i've always played games on easy or normal but never challenged my self so maybe it would be fun to play it on hard. since there is no penalty for die every 5 minutes ;)

The DLC is quite difficult. You could be exploring some building one second and then all of a sudden swarmed by enemies thinking to yourself "OH GOD, MAKE IT STOP".

Also, bring as much as you need. There'll be safe storage as soon as you start.

When you play OWB, you'll want a high sneak and lockpick. ESPECIALLY sneak.

Best game for me. I got the PS3 version, but I recently got Dead Money. Big mistake... I wasn't into the Survival Horror feel to it. So I got this one because it sounded intresting. Especially when the human body is invovled scientifically (Med Student). So I got it... Parts I enjoyed were the quests and the characters (Hilarious!) I would get it if you like humor, good items, good story and challenges.
