Old World Blues to be released tomorrow outside of the US

Post » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:39 pm

Well. IF it's rly GMT -/+0 it will be 12:01 AM online in Irland, Scotland and England.

But It will mean the rest of Europe has to wait 1 hour or even 2 hours longer as as it is still GMT +1 for Countrys like Germany and France and for Eastern Europe even GMT +2.

Regarding this whole problem.

It's just nothing surprising anymore..

good  for you

as i said the UK etc and countrys like Germany and France and the ones in Eastern Europe are on DST, DST for the UK is GMT +1, Germany and France etc are on GMT +2 and Greece etc are on GMT +3, when we are NOT on DST then the UK is on GMT, Germany and France would be on GMT +1 and Eastern Europe on GMT +2

I respond all the time. People just don't like my responses. :)

Perhaps if instead of doing what it seems like for your last 2 DLC's and just blaming everything else.
"Sorry guys Microsoft have an exclusive for Dead Money - Blame them"
"Sorry guys Valve was given the files for Honest Hearts - Blame them"
"Sorry guys but the release date internationally for Old World Blues isn't my fault - blame someone else"

Perhaps if you would stop treating paying customers as unwashed serfs who disgust your sensibilities for not being born american and daring to live outside the US like some putrid virus ridden creatures who have no place in this world and are only given scraps because it is easier then cleaning up - perhaps if you had the balls to figure out that nothing is anyone elses fault here and that you are basically saying you are more inept then an Indie developer who can have files uploaded worldwide instantly and manage their catalogues and customers with the respect they deserve.

You sir are a complete disappointment - you disappoint and run behind the subconscious skirt of your mother demanding we all blame someone else - nothing is your fault how could it be - [censored] foreign sub-human windowlickers who are not american should be grateful they're even acknowledged they exist is that right sir?

I am so glad I have learnt my lesson from Honest Hearts - you have no real goal in treating your fans as fans - no you will continue to spit in our mouths and demand we be grateful that such liquid of the gods was shared with us. If I could hope for anything I hope that anyone who shares your lineage is given a defect in their genetic coding that somehow makes them actually be human and not the god awful creature that stands before us here.

When you decide to start treating people and customers as equals and worthy of being acknowledged as such we'll know everything I said above is just wasted keystrokes - but from where I stand I honestly haven't said enough or could find the words to describe you even remotely close to how I feel.

Doesn't the US have Summer Time too?

They call it daylight savings time over there, but it's the same thing, yes.

Otherwise it will be rly 1 AM for GMT 0 and 2 AM for me (GMT +1). Arrrgh F*CKING Timezones!

I did have to stop and think before I realised what it actually meant in terms of what my wall clock is telling me. Doesn't help that the various timezone-related nomenclature isn't always very intuitive and is sometimes contradictory...

Oh and let me guess, those who ordered a retail version of FNV over Internet, had it shipped to them but are in say Eastern Europe, are still screwed over because for them only the "localized version" is available and they cannot get the international or US version of DLC from anywhere? Again?! Why the **** can't you add this DLC to, say, Direct2Drive without some stupid restrictions? So nevermind that we spent a lot of cash to get this game, especially those who went and ordered Collector's Edition - and we didn't mind to pay more because we love Fallout - are not considered as "customers worth of any attention or anything" by Bethesda and yet again we get shafted. Great. Thank you very much. And screw you.

Well, as I said above I just started to stop thinking about it. :P

Honest, knowing if it will be 2 AM or 3 AM (my time whatever) doesn't help me in real life.

It's 12:01 GMT for Steam. Not any local time, just GMT. That's when it will go live for all of Europe, even the Cenega versions.

No: it's only 21:27 GMT, so you still have two and a half hours to go...

again its not sony fault sony its not calling the shots this time

I never said it was Sony's fault. The fault lies with whichever marketing exec made this bone headed decision. The reason a decision had to be made however was that Sony were unable/unwilling to release an update on a Tuesday in Europe. Regardless of the why Sony didn't do this, it was still a pretty stupid choice by the sales guys who thought that telling valve to hold it for 24 hours was a good idea.

Countries outside Europe get it on all platforms,

Inside Europe, XBox gets it.

Do they decide to put PC users with the XBox users and the rest of the world? No, they shaft us by bundling us in with the PS customers. Great.

So is it 12:01 GMT in summertime? Hope so, only one hour to wait then.

I'm looking forward to the new creatures and stuff, more specifically their anims :D More modding toys for me ^^

No, GMT is fixed; the UK is indeed in summer time, but that's called BST. Still two hours to go.

So this isn't a delay to allow Namco Bandai Partners Australia to hike the price to $12.99 for Australia for absolutely no reason, like they did with the previous two DLCs?

I spawn-camp the Steam store at 3am for each DLC release to get in before the rip-off starts.

(For US/EU people: in Australia, some companies put the price of their Steam games up by nearly double just because they want to match what is charged in retail stores. But Namco Bandai is the ONLY distributor that also price-hikes DLC - which is of course not available in stores. Not even Activision does that on Steam.)

So I'm not the only one noticing this?? I'm NOT going insane?? Good. But totally outrageous!!!

I'm told it will go live at 12:01 AM GMT on Steam everywhere outside of the US.

People using the Cenega build should be especially pleased, since it's going live for you as well (yaaay).

Just wanted to say thanks Jas, for keeping the community up on the when and wtf is going on inside the company. Good to know SOMEONE cares about the user.

Wrong on both counts.

Sony updates the PSN store on Wednesdays in Europe.

Our sales people told Valve to release on PC in Europe to match the PSN release.

The patch that enables OWB was already released. Any updates you see on Steam is just the client re-verifying the download.

How in the hell did you guys come up with a masterpiece like that , and no Im not just kissing ass cause your a dev( well maybe a little) But in all seriousness , Damn fine job

Dead Money - exclusive for xbox 360. PC & PS3 months later
Honest Hearts - first xbox 360, PC & PS3 hours later
And Old World Blues...

Why?

I have no doubt that the DLC will be good. But for the next and last DLC: pls, this time first on PC ;)
