Old World Radio ...

Once upon a time, there was Radio, and radio drama.

This was before television.

There were long running serials like The Shadow - http://www.oldradioworld.com/shows/The_Shadow.php

The Whistler - http://www.oldradioworld.com/shows/Whistler.php

Comedy Adventures with Abbot and Costello - http://www.oldradioworld.com/shows/Abbott_and_Costello.php

Then there's more familiar sounding shows like;

Batman

Superman

Flash Gordon

Wouldn't it be interesting if someone made a mod that added some of these shows into the in-game Radio programming, perhaps as a station?

Great music is great, but, some of these old serials might add another level of atmosphere.

:)

If no one mods it, at least there's these links to the Old World Radio site with plenty fun to download and enjoy while working out, driving, and doings other things where listening is easier than watching ... if only to set the mood for Fallout as something a little bit retro.

:)

"You're listening to the adventures of me, Herbert Daring Dashwood, and my stalwart Ghoul manservant, Argyle!"

Mods? I would love to hear more of this in the vanilla game! Since we already have a good example in Mr. Dashwood we may hear something similar in F4.

There's so much they could do with this. It would be cool to turn your PipBoy radio on at certain times on certain days and hear a brief serial. They could be horror stories, adventure, whatever!

Definitely. If they can record over 13,000 lines for a voice actor, then they should be able to record more than one radio show (that don't repeat themselves very often either).

I've got a New Vegas mod that actually plays an entire black-and-white Tom & Jerry cartoon episode on a TV in the mod-house. While I don't expect to (often) be sitting in front of an in-game TV watching a black and white show, listening to a radio serial WHILE I am out adventuring is certainly possible, and would be welcome.

I just hope that they aren't "tune in at five o'clock" type things --- I have a hard enough time keeping track of things (with the accelerated timeframe), and having to remember to "tune in" at a specific in-game time would be cumbersome.

While I'm not terribly fond of repeated content, I would rather these shows just pop up whenever and repeat ~somewhat~ so that I can catch an episode I missed because I turned off my radio while skulking through a quiet cave, listening for deathclaws breathing.

There was a mod for New Vegas that added a bunch of old radio dramas.

Fun fact- You can find a lot of radio shows like Box 13, Boston Blackie, Green Hornet, Red Skelton, and others, on ITunes for free
