I'm aware of that already, but thanks :) I'm more interested in http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/opde/index.php?title=Main_Page, though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NZHJczt388 Updated (keep graphics and music) with basically just more areas... or a sequel. Do eet nao.

I know that isn't pre-N64/PS1 but it's just so damn awesome. I want it now on Xbox LIVE Arcade or Steam.

Syndicate has been rumored to have a new game in the works for a couple of months now. EA still owns the property after Bullfrog's demise.

Certainly an improvement over the original, but not exactly the HD remake I was hoping for.

I know, I know. I'm shallow.

Edit: speaking of community update mods for old games, I wish the Black Mesa team would hurry up.

I don't really like the idea of remakes in general. I'd prefer my favorite devs focus on making entirely new games rather than giving old ones an unnecessary facelift, but if I had to choose:

Final Fantasy IX
- Everyone wants VII, but we've seen VII's world in a whole new light via Advent Children, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. We've also seen that semi-futuristic setting used in just about every Final Fantasy released in recent years. We've seen much less of anything resembling Final Fantasy IX's more traditional setting. Lost Odyssey is about all I can think of.

Seiken Densetsu 3 - I'm actually fine with a remake/re-release of a game like this, considering it was never released outside of Japan to begin with. Fan translations just aren't the same.

Mother and Mother 3 for the reasons above. What gives Nintendo?

I'll echo Terranigma. I can't afford to track down a PAL copy in English.

I'd really like to see Baldur's Gate. The original. It was the first RPG I've ever played. I was kinda young back then and I remember getting fairly far into it. I installed it on my laptop when I started college a few years back and had trouble killing the monsters at the beginning of the game. One of my all time favorites.

I'd also like to see FFVI. Or was it FFIII? I've heard it called both names and now I'm eternally confused. Was a blast when I had it though!

Both. Final Fantasy VI was renamed Final Fantasy III for its North American release to avoid confusion since we hadn't gotten the original Final Fantasy II, III or V. Final Fantasy II (US) was actually Final Fantasy IV.

I imagine there would have been much less confusion had they avoided renaming them in the first place. :P

No it's not.

That game could use a nice big fat sequel, although I don't see how given the ending... But I'm pretty sure Schafer could pull it off.

Never understood why it was never translated, since it's probably the best game in the whole Mana series. (and in my opinion one of the best SNES games too)

Now the original game svcked, but I think it had a good idea, but terrible execution.

In that same vein, I'd have to say Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader. Great concept, decent but not exceptional beginning, and then things go hideously downhill partially because they had to rush the game through... if they'd had a chance to actually do something proper with most of the game and been able to polish the beginning a bit more, it could have been a great game.

Especially now. The way they've been hawking Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest remakes on the DS/PSP, SD3 seems like an obvious choice. Maybe on the 3DS and/or NGP.

I'd like to see a hi-res version of Final Fantasy VI redone on the PSP. Or the PC, but I doubt that will ever happen.

Wasteland, the predecessor to Fallout. The frustrating thing is that EA owns the damn liscense, yet doesn't do anything with it, and threatens anyone who tries to do anything with it.

I'd like to see the original Legend of Zelda and/or Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past re-released with 3D graphics (like LoZ: Ocarina of Time).
I would also like to see:

A new Kid Icarus game.

A new Blaster Master game.

I wouldn't mind seeing a new version of the original System Shock from 1994. Playing it now, the graphics and the controls are rather outdated.

Actually, new versions of System Shock 2, Thief and Thief II would be nice too as the game engine would have to be upgraded to run properly on modern PC hardware which can be a bit tricky now as the games doesn't like multiple cores and some other niggles.

This would be my answer exactly. I would add only the original Tie-Fighter (and related: X-Wing, and X-Wing Vs. Tie-Fighter, and X-Wing Vs. Tie-Fighter: Balance of Power) by LucasArts. Those games were awesome. I wouldn't mind a new Star-Wars game that was only space-combat.
