I'm really happy with how that bow looks. Nice and simple. Oblivion really lacked a nice looking, plain wooden bow.

Cut out the spam replies guys. :stare:

Yeah, that is a nice plain bow - imo better looking than some of the fancy ones from previous games. Looks like it will not have very good stats though.

meh, i'd rather have a deadric bow. lol. but seriously, im glad they're gonna have "wood" bows in Skyrim. that'd be really cool if there are different classes of bow like long and shortbows.

I hope there are more variations of wooden bows, some more ornate, some more rustic. The bow in that pic looks like he bought it at IKEA.

No there weren't. The first bow you get is an iron bow, then steel and silver, then glass and deadric, but no wood.

Really? It made a wooden sound when withdrawn and actually was mostely wood. It was only called an "iron" bow because it was the first in the list of materials.

This is the "iron" bow: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa120/85natrapS/Oblivion2008-04-2523-18-37-39.jpg
I'd rather call it a wooden bow.
It looks very good.

Well you can make a bow entirely of metal, but iron probably would get to warped to use after a few pulls. Now silver is even more unrealistic. Silver is weaker then iron, it wouldn't make a good bow.

No, only the Iron bow had wood, the brown part of the steel is some form of grip, like a rope or something that has been wound around the steel. And the Glass one, honestly I have no clue :P

Yeah, I never got the metal material bows. Glad they finally went wooden.

I wonder what the wood tiers will be...?

bows should have entirely different tiers. imo any metal/glass/anything shiny or hard on a bow is lame.

Considering the "iron" one was already wooden, I'd say the wood tiers will be

Iron
Steel
Dwemer/Dwarven
Elven

and so on...with the "material" name describing what the grips and fittings are made of.
