Once and for all, Werewolves are in it, or not?

Post » Fri Aug 19, 2011 11:03 pm

Yes...But why? The werewolf in 'Bloodmoon' is terribly over-powered (i.e. Being able to jump the length of Solstheim in three bounds, eviscerating your opponents with a single flick of the clawed wrist, being able to figuratively rip Dagoth Ur's head off and shove it up his tight little keister)...Why not limit it? One of the many reasons I use a p.c. to do my gaming...Handy little mod that 'Original Ring of Hircine'...Only let the beast off of the chain when I absolutely have to...

The werewolves, if they are included, are unlikely to be as overpowered as they were in Morrowind.

your right about the incredible strength but only to an extent.......I think a werewolf should be able to kill 2 or 3 people on strength alone.......but if they do make werewolves a 1 or 2 kill monster....then I hope they make your actual characters level a factor in your werewolf's killing effectiveness

I have deleted a bunch of posts that have nothing to do with the topic.

@Black 6: cut it out with the attempted flamebaiting.

Does that monkey have......wings? Because it certainly looks like it has flying squirrel wings /:

who else has watched van helsing and rise of the lycans recently due to the werewolf threads? cause i have!

however, even if they do not include the ability to become afflicted with Sanies Lupinus, i'm pretty confident they will, like someone above in an earlier post said, release a DLC relating to it in some way shortly after 11-11-11, only because it took a little longer than expected to complete the masterpiece.

My friend, that right there is quite a different can of worms. They've stated that they will not withhold content to make it DLC later, which is something that nets them a lot of respect in my book. For all their flaws Bethesda is one of the few companies out there that is doing DLC correctly, and I'd hate for them to commit such a betrayal.

A long time ago in a podcast with Todd Howard he confirmed that there weren't going to be werewolves in the vanilla game for sure. He did mention that they thought about it and it might be put into a future DLC.

It could be given in a DLC questline from Hircine. Like a mini SI with Hircine in the spotlight.

Todd Howard said the same thing about horses. "We're thinking about it... we're toying with it... but right now it's not at a level that we feel is good enough for the game. So they aren't in... for now. We're definitely playing with it. We want it to feel like a horse, a living animal, not a car or a jeep."

he didn't confirm they would not be in it, he said " dont look into that, let's keep it an open question for now,"

he avoided directly answering the question, which means its neither confirmed nor unconfirmed'

also it seems he'd rather us discover it on our own, which gives more of an urge to play the game in some cases

But he did the exact same thing about the Dark Brotherhood. Then he goes off and confirms their return. So... nah... I don't think they're going to keep that many secrets from us. The more they tell us the more we want the game, right!?

Battlefield 3 just released a document detailing every weapon and vehicle that would be included.

When I first started playing 'Oblivion', I downloaded cidd88's 'Curse of Hircine' mod...Much, much harder...I agree with you that there is something to be said about having to utilize all of the powers of darkness in dimly lit places to your advantage, taking the time to slowly and rip your opponents apart one by one when the dark holes that they've decided to call home violently turn on them...

i guess you're right in some cases, i will correct myself although some may disagree, but it seems to keep it a secret keeps you on edge... you stay with it and hope for the best, then when its confirmed you want to play more than ever before; however, if it were to not be included i fear some may feel much disappointed... and the developers don't like their fans to be disappointed (i'm not the developers but i can guess they don't want that)

however this is just my inference on the matter

What it means is there is a good chance they will be. If they definetly weren't he would have said so in the same way he said spears weren't in. The fact it is an open question gives us all hope.

I suppose you are right. Holding off for so long only to then say "they're not in" would be horrible for those that wanted it.

I think you're correct. Werewolves could be in.

On the note of how much info they tell us:

If you were a gun enthusiast and someone was going to release a weapons pack, (and you wanted a gun to be in it), which description would you prefer:
"Yeah the weapons pack might have a gun in it. Let's keep that question open."
or
"It will have a gun. Not just any gun, THE [censored]ING GUN. The biggest, most baddass gun in the world; and it svcks peoples' blood + barks like a wolf. Awesome right!?"
or
"It won't have a gun."

I'd buy the hyped version in the middle. They better tell us.

You can be a werewolf. The most baddass son of a [censored]ing wolf out there. Rip peoples heads off, super strength and speed. Not to mention you look absolutely terrifying! BUY SKYRIM TODAY!

The Dark Brotherhood was one of the first things confirmed months before E3.

In this case the fan Q&A directly states they will not reveal if the player can transform into other creatures until the game releases.

Or they answer questions in vauge, political ways. You know, to build the hype machine that built this thread and the hundreds before it.

As for what I think:
If werewolves/vamps are in they'll be in from the start. They've already done the expansion with a quest line related to werewolves and I don't think the public would be kind if they just rehashed a story they did a decade ago.
