Once and for all, Werewolves are in it, or not?

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 7:09 am

Its driving me nuts, I see one thing answering this same question just worded differently, speaking very matter of factly that they would be in it, then I see something else entirely elsewhere, most are excited about it, but then suddenly most of the posts call fake on it, yet still say it pretty much will happen anyway.

So, I want to know, is this gonna happen? And if it is in DLC, some expansion to it, then I would want that. But, in full game, via DLC, or not at all (which would be very irritating...)?

Vampires are confirmed right?

If we could only have one, I'd pick bats over wolves. Everyone loves the sixy vampire.

Todd said in a podcast a while ago that they were toying with the idea. They said that about horses too and horses are in.

we really have no idea! i wish we knew, however it was not said whether it WILL be in the game nor if it WILL NOT be in the game... When todd was asked the question on shape-shifting he avoided it, and said let's keep it an open question.

A possible surprise? We'll just have to wait and see...

LOL... the title of this thread makes me laugh. "Once and for all." My ass. We'll see another 50 of these damn threads before the week's over with.

BTW- both vampires and werewolves have been defiled by Twilight. Teen Wolf. Red Riding Hood.

Werewolves are one of those things that I really think even if they are in it will not be let out of the bag by Bethesda ahead of time. I think they are more likely to confirm it if they ARE NOT in the game, to manage disappointment better. If they are in and people are pleasantly surprised, it is a bonus for them and seen as exceeding expectations. Smart marketing at its best.

Really? They aren't going to say a word before it comes out, are they? I mean, I've already pre-ordered the game, it is less than a few months from it's day of release... Is hiding this really a good idea? Lack of this knowledge may make or break some people's decision to get the game or not, who knows.

I'm a stupid svcker for this though, so I'll be getting it anyways, worst comes to worst, 24/7 Khajiit play will be my consolation... :/

As per my post above, it is not exactly hiding it in a deceitful way or anything. It is more that way if they hide that they are not in the game.

No. Werewolves are untouched. Twilight sh*t all over skinwalkers, and by extension the culture of my ancestors.

So should I believe that by their evasive silence on the matter, that it is an indirect confirmation...? If I were to make this assumption, then find out otherwise, I will not be happy, Bethesda...

Effing 'Red Riding Hood' came out in theaters not too long after the second Twilight movie came out. They basically made it to the same effect of twilight... just with a werewolf.

What they said:

1) Will the character be able to change into [werewolves or vampires?]
Todd: We’ve done various things like that in our previous games, and it’s something that we probably won’t be talking about specifically on this one. Don’t read anything into that, we just prefer to not discuss this one. We’d like to leave that an open question until the game is out.

What that probably means:

1) Will the character be able to change into [werewolves or vampires?]
Todd: No.

Nobody truly knows for sure...A lot of hope for those who want a return of werewolves back into the Elder Scrolls universe officially...A lot of misinformation by those who either knowingly look to mislead or do so out of false hope in making mountains out of molehills to what has or hasn't been stated by BGS already (which is nothing officially certain as of yet)...

There was quite a furor when official word was given that werewolves would not be returning into 'Oblivion'...But despite that news, BGS had won numerous awards for the game as well as no small amount of acclaim...

So the question is which outcome do you see?

Will Bethesda recall the bitter disappointment from the many upon many fans that had recalled the violently heady lycanthropic glories of Hircine and his beloved Hounds with games such as 'Daggerfall' and 'Morrowind' and loose the Hounds for not only those who remember, but for those new to the Elder Scrolls?

Or...Do you think will they look back upon the past days of triumph, resting on their many accolades and laurels, boldly seeking out that which is new and exciting to give rise to a newer fan base, ignoring what they had previously and so very greatly accomplished to strike out boldly into new and uncharted paths?

No, because generally if something is not confirmed people will automatically assume that to mean it is NOT in the game. 99% of people will probably assume that if they say nothing.

A lot of us are assuming their silence is an indirect confirmation. They didn't say no, but that they didn't want to talk about it. I think they are either trying to balance it within the game before release, or planning to add it during a DLC so they have extra time to get it "just right." The lack of confirmation at the last interview was probably because they didn't know which path they were going to take.

There was quite a fuhrer when official word was given that werewolves would not be returning into 'Oblivion'...

What do you mean there was was quite a leader? Fuhrer literally means leader.
