Same goes for any super scrolls or potions I might have, in any RPG ever, I always save stuff like that for dire moments but those moments never come.

Everyone of my characters that I have retired have done so with a collection of super scrolls and potions that they never used. Most of which I actively sought out too.

Play a High Elf Mage and you'll praise Auri-El (Akatosh) for the Highborn ability. And in thanks you should find some Talos worshipping troglodyte and burn them at the stake... heathen scum.

Wonder if there's a console command to eliminate the 1x per day limitation. I might actually use it for a change then.
TGM

Also removes shout cooldown.

As for me, I've only used Histskin once, but when I did, it was incredibly useful. Apparently it gives you 2x on your out-of-combat regen speed instead of in-combat regen speed. It'll keep you alive in a fight when you're battling some enemies while an archer chips down your health. I really ought to use it more.

Most useless daily ability is Beast Form though, without any comparison. No way of healing except feeding on already dead enemies, useless scare ability, worthless sprint power attack, a knockdown attack that does no damage, and weakened melee attacks. All for +100 Health and Stamina and a faster sprint. Terrible. Nowhere near as useful as the utility of normal-form (Dragon Shouts, magic, blocking, potions, sneaking, archery, and various perk effects). Oh well. I suppose they needed some form of gimmick to keep the wolfaboos and Twilight fans entertained.

I think they should have cooldowns, time based on the skill.

Orc Berserk, Highborn, and Histskin would probably have long cooldowns (like Stormcall), while Voice of the Emperor for instance would be quicker.

Standing Stone powers too.

Many of the once-a-days are lifesavers, but so is F9 :>

I used the Nord power a lot on my necromancer. Life ain't easy for a boy named Sue Nord mage during the early levels.

I only use it when I die 5 times in a row and need my histskin to keep me alive to get past some highlevel bosses that kill me in 2 hits. I never use the wait feature for some reason.

Since you can simply use the "wait" function between fights, what's the point of having this restriction on race powers? Why not just have a cooldown like shouts?

Considering that you cannot wait near enemies, it is a good system in my opinion.

I always remember my powers, I make sure to put them on the Favourite list especially.

I think one of the most enjoyable is the one you get from The Ritual Stone.
Great if you've been fighting loads of enemies and then there is a boss.

Its an emergency power, I rarely use it myself but there were few times that helped me get out of trouble - talking about Nord and Orc but assume others serve the same purpose.

The only time I used racials was at the beginnning to see if they had neat visual effects.

Only one a day power I use in Skyrim is Beast form.

I was about to rag on these powers until I realized they were in Morrowind to so they are actually pretty cool.

Thr spectral assasin is pretty useful when you need a enemy to be distracted. I use him often to draw archer fire.

Orc Berserker Rage is definitely helpful in sticky situations, like rooms full of people attacking you. Berserker rage + slow time, = room full of dead people.

Orc beserk is no joke, its the best daily power, but yes you CAN wait 24 hours in between of fights but... It gets boring waiting on that bar to go from 24 to 0 every time

This.

The only other races I've played are wood elf, and breton. Wood elf power is useless, and breton one is so-so.

Orc power is nuts but I keep forgetting I have it.

As far as I can see the Breton power makes you immune to magic if you have the Atronach (sp?) stone.

Not used any of the others yet though.

I`m playing a Breton and use my Dragonskin rarely. But it does come in handy fighting mages especially bosses.

All resistances (magic, elemental, physical) cap at 85%, absorb at 80%.
Magic resistance will reduce spelldamage first, then the elemental resistance will reduce what gets through.
Absorb is an avoid-all-or-nothing effect (so 80% absorb means that you'll completely ignore 4 out of 5 spells cast at you).

I see. My resists were already capped on my Breton so I guess it just felt like I was immune since anything that did get through hardly did any damage.

Once a day powers are vastly overpowered to be given any kind of simple cooldown. The fact that people are using the 'wait' function to exploit them just astounds me.

i never use once a day powers.
i usually just forget i have them.
i really only use night eye and fus ro dah

I am pretty much right there with you I forget them 90% of the time unless I add it to my fave bar.

Then again I don't complain about the menu due to the fact just hitting "f" and having my items put into favorites works fine for switching between shouts weapons powers etc.
