One Auction for whole server

Post » Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:33 pm

Discuss

Just wanted to add I farmed specific low level blue weapon I had 20+ of them and half of them I sold very cheap for 100 gold on auction in two guilds with just 50 players I sold rest to vendor as I doupted that so many would sell to so low ppl but maybe they would who knows.

Point is if i can grind 20 those weapons in like 2 hours there could be like 1000 of those in server auction easily, is it good or bad thing. I dunno maybe they would sell fast enough to keep good price and resonable number.

But overall I am for server auction mostly due to better prices and large amount of resource and stuff to buy.

Definitely not. An auction house sacrifices so many good things in the name of convenience. Let trading be a little more personal and immersive.

If there's a one world Auction House, it pretty much negates the player guilds purpose.

Wow no ty , a server-wide (million players in eso terms) -> you'll get diabloIII-ish situations ... no crafting profits (undercut prices) , no trading , no gathering gear because you can just buy it ... there's a reason why they are going to remove it and why ZoS didn't add an auction house to the game

I want an Auction House , but if they don't add it then that's fine with me also . Nothing much I can do if the majority doesn't want it .

Except it doesn't sacrifice anything because it never stopped those things to begin with. They happen with auction houses and without. And trade in that manner isn't as "personal" as many of you believe it is. Most of it is not very meaningful at all and hardly immersive.

Neverwinter (if I'm not mistaken) did this and it destroyed the economy with so much inflow of goods & undercuting. It made most goods virtually worthless.

That's not to say I agree with guilds controlling the market but it does help retain value and isolate better drops players have access to. Keep in mind too that crafting will often (or always) offer the best items in the game so a player could craft the best gear themselves.

I'm curiuos , if there's no auction house , are people gonna be selling items similiar to GW1 or there will be a different way ?

Ex : WTS captured son letters at 1000 gold each .

Absolutely not - I'd far rather see local city markets where players could sell a limited number of items on consignment NPCs.

That would still limit typical global AH problems but still allow economic gameplay without resorting to the broken system Zenimax is trying to force on us.

That's why I don't go to the grocery store and instead stand on the corner shouting for potatoes. So hungry...

Currently only WTS spamming and guild store which require you to have at least 50 member (accounts) which will cease to 'function' if drops below 50.

No action house is gonna be a great experience. People'll need to look for custumers on forums, in game etc. It'll increase the social interaction for sure. Just like the good old days of ultima online.

If by "social interaction" you mean yelling. Anyone know how many people you can ignore at a given time?

Well, yelling is part of the trade thing. Have you ever been to a flea market? Huehuehue. But I do prefer to conduct my business on the low profile for selected customers only.

Btw, I do hope that they add a trade channel.
