The MGE ones look great. not too keen on the painting-looking ones. But I already have Morrowind modded-out with better scenery. My problems with Morrowind are the character models and animations. Everything looks stiff and terrible. I loved it at the time, but it's rough to look at nowadays.
Yeah, those are bad. Morrowind suffers technically in addition to its oldness, animations don't blend, especially with low FPS. The game is playable in low FPS but animations look horrible. Also low speed attributes creates slow-mo runnings, but I'm OK with those as it is part of the game mechanics.
You can forgive Morrowind for its flaws mainly because it is too old, but Oblivion isn't better with all its next-gen tech.

5 to 15, those NPCs walk like.. I don't know, Mario turtles? It is too weird, maybe it is the armor, but both walks like a stick with a motor force.
For balance,
Oblivion is using highly customizable Facegen software. They look bloated but I prefer it to poser like figures in any day. It is choice. It can be better.
Oblivion is using physics, it is poorly implemented but at least physics can be a standard in RPGs, at least in TES.
Oblivion was the first next-gen title. At least for me. Graphics were gorgeous and still is. For some reason it is a little dated though. OBGE team should change those HDR tone mapping shaders. And also water... I'm going into ranting mode again.
Oblivion was also a nice attempt in AI department. I can clearly say, with this they somehow gained the leadership in industry. They tried. I'm eagerly waiting the next innovation.
They might kind of failed in these innovations but at least they showed they have innovations in mind. Next one will be better.
Remakes are not good. I want them to plan really further and create a much more modable engine. And release new provinces for the same game world and engine. I am not sure but I think WOW is like that. At least I know, Tamriel Rebuilt is like that.
Another good example is Half-Life. Half-Life 2 was an incomplete engine. The game was incomplete too but in story.
But I really hate the incompleteness of it. But they didn't abandoned their engine. It was so bad, I thought they will work on a new engine. I was wrong. They completed the engine and released a new episode. And a new episode and Portal and Left for Dead and L4D2. All with the same engine but developed further. I can say the L4D can be labeled as next gen now. It doesn't look like cartoons anymore.
Now Valve went back and added HDR to HL2, motion blur to CS, released texture packs for Portal and old titles... They even turned HL to source engine. Now that is nice.
That kind of reliability on engine side would do wonders with this community. Just look at the innovation hungry modders on Morrowind Mods and Oblivions Mods section. One user is asking Subsurface Scattering for Oblivion and another user wants Havok physics for Morrowind.

Funny side is, they might get what they want. It is almost impossible but there are modders, ambitious, skilled, dedicated and they are willing for the job... I    before them.
