I honestly don't know much about this game and i'm not big on shooters, but i'm really intrigued by this game. If there is just one thing I should know, what would it be?

We'd need to know more about your interests and game preferences to give you a single answer.

Like tactics? How about a game that rewards teamwork over all else, so a well-led squad will not only win, but level up faster?

Into stealth play? Why not try Operative class? If you're into slower-paced sneaky tactics, go Heavy and you get the added advantage of big guns, if you're better with fast-moving stealth, then Light will be your favourite.

After something more intelligent than your average shooter? No "TDM tedium" here (joke stolen, but reworded). Multi-objeective mission-based play, in both single- and multiplayer.

After it because of the Parkour references? Look no further than the SMART system. Easy-mode free movement for players to get a bit of an edge over other shooters, but skill players can push the limits of the system and pull off more impressive and insane tricks.

I am so depressed.

I got exams until 13 May.
Which means I'll probably be not free on May 10 to get my hands on Brink.
I suppose I could buy it during the weekends.
Lock it up until my exams are done.

Or maybe pre-order it. Then collect it when my exams are done.

Nice, thanks! Usually i'm a lone wolf kind of guy so i'd rather do my own thing. Can I do that? I don't mind teamwork, but i'd rather not lead. Also, is this SMART system something that is a toggable option, or is it part of the controls in normal play?

it is part of normal play, it doubles as the sprint button

this game is made to be teamwork nirvana..best way to be lone wolf..play singleplayer were it most relies on you

There won't be any real reward when you try going fully lone-wolf, but for operating mostly away from your team/behind enemy lines, a Light Operative or Soldier will probably be your best bet. Operatives are being seen as a fairly "lone-wolf" class because of their Disguise ability and the "behind enemy lines" opportunities that gives.

Any Light can operate as a bit of a loner effectively because of your mobility and agility letting you move more freely than most (but obviously not all) enemies, and even moreso if you're good with the movement system.

I recommended Soldiers are your next-best option because any other class will have ammo shortages pretty fast, Soldiers can buff their own ammo supply, and can restock the ability to do so with the Scavenge ability. A Medic would also be a good solo class - drop a few health buffs on teammates, then vanish, and use your healing to keep yourself alive - won't earn very much XP, but should should be able to cause some trouble for the enemy team if you're staying behind their lines and refusing to stay dead.

Sounds like Brink is full of depth and that's exactly what i'm looking for.

/thread

Sorry not really anything worth discussing.

Then why post?

Personally I feel like I've been playing it for ages now. I know so many details, I've seen so many videos so many times...It actually being a game is weird.

Playing Fable II..again. Working on Dead Money on New Vegas with my main character (which is a real pain on hardcoe mode) and starting a new, secondary raider-type character on New Vegas.

All other games seem boring now that Brink's release is right around the corner.
