One patch to rule them all

Hey folks.

I'd like to make a patch for one of my mods that would affect all versions when loaded after it. For clarity I'm going to be straight up on the technicals and mod.

The mod in question is RealShelter.esp (RS). It has about a dozen builds to accommodate various weather mods. Each one is built separately and kept as RealShelter.esp. Each build does two main things when shelter is entered: 1) replaces weather forms with exact copies of themselves without precipitation and 2) places static trigger boxes and effects that activate when a shelter is entered during precipitation.

I am making a patch for ET&C. Because the ETC mod changes the location of structures I need to move the trigger boxes and effects to the new shelter locations (relocated guard towers, porches, etc.). Making an ETC patch for every build is impractical.

So I'd like to make one patch that changes the locations of the statics for all builds (again they all have the same esp name). I can esmify a RS build and move the statics around with no problem. Once done I would remove the esm dependency from the patch and rely on the user placing it after their specific RealShelter.esp version. I'm assuming the patch would still work with the esp's, which have the same static data as the esm version used only for patch building. But before I get to far along I wanted to make sure that this approach would cover all builds in the RealShelter.esp versions.

Does anyone see a problem with this approach, or have a better suggestion?
