I think Crytek needs to put Paypal payment options in place & maybe run a promotion weekend offering the maps at a reduced price. They do look like good maps but £8 is too much for just 4 maps. People don't seem to appreciate that they are not just lifted out of the SP campaign but are specially designed and play tested for MP - still £8 / $10, cmon that's a 3rd of the price of the entire game.

I intended to buy them but had issues with accounts and payments so held off - which looks like a good move as I never see them in rotation.

I don't mind paying for a good dlc that comes with a good price. I didn't buy this one because these 4 maps were already in the game when it came out in the singleplayer campaign (like most of the maps in multiplayer). So the thing is, I have the feeling that these maps could have been in the game when it came out. But thats just my opinion.

These new maps are not completely new created, they are in single player too, and you facing lot's of problems purchasing it. Plus Crysis 2 MP is dying, lot's of us is not trying to buy it. I think this is obvious.

Maps is actually the wrong word it implies it covers a large area, 'store guide' or plan is more appropriate in this context.

Who would be stupid enough to buy DLC when..

1. Its overpriced for the content it gives..
2. Its for a game with a small playerbase..
3. Map making tools are coming..
4. The maps themselves are largely single player rips..
5. The game is full of hackers and other problems..

..?

Second 1-4.
DLC's are just about never worth the money, I think a study from a year back or so revealed that DLC content is purchased by like 14% of people on average. So for any given game by purchasing a DLC you have an 86% reduced player base which seriously impacts online play considering you have less flexibility to discriminate according to ping.
My bro had the same problem with MW2, hardly anyone bought the DLC and it was integrated into the playlist by default so his wait time/ping pretty much doubled

I was on vacation and when I came back I had a hard time finding a game on the OLD maps. I went ahead and bought the DLC cause I thought everyone was playing on the NEW maps, but no they weren't.

Couldn't find a game in progress on the new maps, so camped on an empty server for 10 minutes hoping someone would join me, but nobody came.

Then all sudden like, I started baying out, HeeHaw, HeeHaw, HeeHaw! Oh well, HeeHAW!

I just bought the map pack today with the anticipation of more players playing with the new patch. I have played two of the 3 maps. and they are gorgeous. I mean simply well thought out maps. I was Wondering if i got a server will the new maps already be on it? Cause I know if i get a server my clan will jump and we will have a full server most times. and will be located near Dallas TX or Chicago.

Overpriced?! Obviously, you haven't heard about a game called Call of duty!

Lol, and I think I was looking through my copy of the WSJ that was talking about them charging a fee like xbox live for special extra content. Activision you have done a fine job in making EA look good again.

Sending Credit Card information via internet is old stuff - as soon as they offer PayPal I will consider to buy the DLC. Right now there are enough servers up and running the old maps - so no need to change.

Explain how another franchise overcharging for DLC makes this one not overpriced?

$3/map for a CoD pack doesnt make $2.50/map for a Crysis 2 pack a fair deal.

This whole DLC cirkus needs to lay down and bleed to death. A couple of new maps here and there used to be costumer care. It reminds me of my bank. Apparently doing all the work myself is now considered a service and I have to pay for the previlige. Wait a minute....

Could be another DLC on the way. New patch added more maps

Servers found running maps that are not released.

So, I guess, we can't make maps for the MP part of the game. We need to pay to have new maps? Great.

I'm sure if they made buying the maps easier maybe 15 - 20 more players would buy then.

At least COD maps were actually unique constructions though? I mean forgive me if I'm wrong here, but i hear and it would appear to be the case, that these maps are just single player map rehashed into multiplayer? I mean charging players for content they already have... nice...
