Umm....I was almost 100% sure you were gonna say Survivalist's Rifle. But, OK, Holorifle is not bad.

The Holorifle is the destroyer of life.
I'm ashamed to say I'm not using it a lot on this playthrough.

Meltdown?

I tested on the Legendary Deathclaw... Holorifle (Meltdown perk) is God

Meltdown doesn't do any damage on the target you attack though.
It only affects damage on nearby enemies.

Example:

You attack the legendary deathclaw, then no additional damage is given from the perk.
Once that deathclaw reaches zero health then it explodes, causing harm onto others.
So it doesn't actually "do" any damage on the enemy you're focusing your attacks on.

Meh, that title goes top the almighty Hunting Shotgun! :hehe:

Classic pump-action boomstick. Plenty of short to midrange stopping power, nearly a sniper rifle with slugs, and a non-lethal weapon with Bean bags. If it could be silenced i'd never use another gun again :D

I haven't really used the Holorifle, but i'll give it a shot when i restart my Energy Weapons character after i finish with my current sniper (56.5 hours already and still plenty left to do).

Bloody Mess makes all of your attacks do 5% more damage. So technically, Bloody Mess makes the Holorifle stronger.

Sounds good but I'd rather use the All American and lite my opponent up like a Christmas Tree.

You could try and get the 'set lasers for fun' challenge perks.

(even though the name says laser it affects all energy weapons)

Only gives an extra 2%/4% though..

The Holorifle is god's right hand. It was too powerful, so he cast it out... like the devil.;-)

I've never used the bean bag rounds in my shotgun. What do they do anyway?

Minimal Damage
Fatigue Damage (Knocks them down)
Strange though, every time I use Bean Bag rounds, my enemy doesn't get knocked down.

Survivalist's Rifle killed god. End of discussion.

Seriously that was a standard service rifle before the war? Holy crap!

To be honest, me neither  But they do fatigue damage, so they should work like boxing gloves. Which i've never used either :hehe:

I read on Sawyers formspring the survivalist modified it heavily, including re-chambering it for 12.7mm, new hand grip, and the bent sights.. He was a god to the Sorrows, and this was his hand made instrument of wrath.

Holorifle (Microfusion cell, max charge) Meltdown perk

Meh. I much prefer the YCS with maxed charged. Or even the Plasma Caster

I used to play YCS/186 but after testing Holorifle is way better.

In terms of damge, YCS beats it by a long shot if they are both using maxed charged cells. But the holo is semi-auto, preference is preference.
I personally don't like the gun at all...just taste.

The Holorifle doesn't shoot lasers. So Laser Commander doesn't affect it.
