One suggestion for PvP map

Post » Fri Feb 21, 2014 6:02 pm

Alot of reviewers have brought up how barren Cyrodiil is as you make your way across the map to whatever destination you might be headed. They have suggested small roving bands of alliance based NPCs that wander the land, but I would like to take that a little farther. My thoughts are of massive alliance based troop formations lead by a strong NPC General that move slowly towards any keep that their alliance holds and is under siege. If this formation reaches the keep before being destroyed, bonuses in NPCs and keep strength is improved by how big a formation makes it.

While a neat idea I cannot support it. I like the idea of sieges lasting hours between real people and an arbitrary timer such as a NPC army arriving would negate that

A better idea would be to force player to build siege equipment in friendly territory and move it to an enemy keep, thus forcing them to travel slowly and guard the equipment. This would create more dynamic PvP opportunities between the big keep hotspots.

Taking keeps is already hard enough without the game throwing more obstacles in there. If this is like RVR in DAOC then just a few ranged should be able to cause enough mayhem until more players can get there to defend. After enough people reach level cap and are strictly pvping then they should be on the ball and protecting their keeps themselves.

I remember one time in DAOC I was the lone archer defending a keep and managed to kill enough of the enemy from the walls to make them pull back and regroup and assess how many people were in there. They didn't know it was only me. Then reinforcements arrived and we held it.

That was fun.

Enemy NPCs are busy guarding keeps and towns. Leave the patrols to the players.

maybe just small bands around 5 max of npcs that roam the road to and from linked keeps, that would be kinda cool because if youre bored you can just go "hunt" enemy faction npcs. Wut i dont like is that everyone is auto lvld to 50, that is rererereretarded

Yea you're right, would be much funnier if we stayed level 10 in Cyrodiil and got our face destroyed by all the level 50s in there *sarcasm*

what lvl 50s you mean the npcs that should be hard to kill since theyre defending a keep? isnt the point to lvl up, get good gear, and strategize a pre leveled playing field is dumb, all that matters then is who has the largest zerg

not having auto-level 50 would just actively prevent anyone not level 50 from going in there.
