interplay made fallout 1
True

By Black Isle Studios. Pretty much the exact people who made Fallout 1 made Fallout 2, aside from some small differences.
Not true

(But I wholly agree with your earlier post :tops:)

Hey we didn't start it. :verymad:

Does it really matter who started it? I missed the post where the FO3 fan started it, just read it now and it didn't really help either.

I was mainly backing up Paladin John's sentiment that this shouldn't be turned into another VS thread. Just let the guy make up his own mind without the same tired old arguments from both sides.

To the OP, I'm glad you enjoyed New Vegas mate and I think you will enjoy 3 as well. It is pretty similar in play style, with a few noticeable differences. If you enjoy the stories of those two games then I would also recommend the earlier games. The style of play in these isn't really to my tastes, but the story is still topnotch IMHO. :goodjob:

Thank you for recommendation guys. I have talked to one of my coworkers who actually suggested to me to try out fallout New Vegas, she did noted that fallout 3 has same engine as New Vegas which is not really what concerns me, im just hoping for good story and amount of content. Ill be able to play it probably week after, right now im working on all achievements on New Vegas and Dead Money :).
Both are great games, but the biggest difference is this. Fallout 3 is more geared towards people who will want to explore and have a "you are all alone" feel. The Capital Wasteland is as the name implies, a wasteland. There will also be more random encounters, and plenty of respawns in the outside world. With New Vegas, it's more of a faction driven game, with more emphasis on the factions than exploration. There is still plenty to explore, but the landscape is smaller and more condensed.

There are more subtle differences, but what I mentioned are the biggest that I find.

Every thread on this forum will turn into vs thread sooner or later. It's inevitable.

You seem like a fine dude, play the originals, not as "action" oriented, but still very exciting and immersive, very addictive, compelling story and lots of awesome guns.

Awesome guns are worthless with out some "action"

If you want action so much you can always start massacring towns.

What i meant by "action" was Micheal Bay action and Shyamalan plot twists, the originals are full of action, lots of fights, gore, fun fun, but it is presented in a logical way, it isnt just mindless "action"

Obsidian made New Vegas and in my opinion just don't even worry about playing fallout 3 it just stole everything from fallout 1 and 2

well it is Fallout 3 of course the games will have something in common. u know what comes after 2 right 3, like the movie the second or 3rd part took the idea of the previous movie, in this case its a game. If you want to thank Bethesda for a fantastic game i recommend you play F03, unless you truly love NV for the story and boring fetch quest

Except they didnt continue them, it was the opposite side of the country and the copied the stories, not based a new one off of them.

He said it's one of the best games he ever played.

And the whole "having similarities to Fallout 1 and 2 because it's Fallout 3" is bull because it's absolutely nothing like Fallout 1 or Fallout 2. I've PLAYED the entire series. The only thing Fallout 3 has in common with Fallout 1 or 2 is the name and the names of the two primary factions.

He clearly hasnt played good games then. F3 is just as much important to the series like F2 is the series after F1. So just because it doenst have that stupid Node system it shouldnt be considered a series or just because it uses the same factions from older games it shouldnt be a series either(like FNV does with NCR and Legion...)

It is important, you are talking down on them and their mechanics when you have never experienced them, it is unfair of you to tell other people what is bad when you don't even know what you are talking about.

Walk around the map in Legion apparel if you want to encounter action. Just because the game doesn't have as much generic enemies (like the raiders in 3) it doesn't mean you can't shoot things.
