Fallout NV sort of had its own Liberty Prime, but it was optional and didn't make the end game any easier. Helluva light show though.

well seeing how they were both made by Mr. House.
I was talking about https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPtsAYJEYXc. They also bomb the [censored] out of the fort.
I liked Liberty Prime. The whole point was that he was a completely over-the-top killing machine that would not only provide overwhelming firepower, but inspire the troops as well. If he doesn't show up in 4, then they wasted him on 3, since he could be so much more on current gen consoles, and he fits in a little better in Boston..
Lyons' BoS traveled on foot all the way from Lost Hills to Pittsburgh before they ended up in D.C., they wouldn't have airships.
Liberty Prime had more Long Neck Lone Stars in his pocket.
Liberty Prime is your typical God Machine going all the way back to the ancient Greek tragedies. He has served his purpose.
For the moment, let's assume that enough time has passed for the ECBoS to have rebuilt him and that the ECBoS is in Boston. The only reason for them to take LP to Boston is if the Brotherhood was moving its headquarters and majority of its forces to Boston.
This gives me an idea. What if the airship is the BoS headquarters for FO4? Maybe they don't have anything on the ground, just a permanent zeppelin (or 2 or 3) that can deploy vertibirds to drop troops.
It almost certainly is since we've seen the logo on it.
So now I'm just wondering how early in the game it gets destroyed, or if that's even guaranteed to happen.
Don't worry, they'll make some other stupidly flashy asset which will no doubt induce many wows in the masses.
People had a problem with the laser musket being operated by a crank - in the Fallout universe.
Motsie, people will find ANYTHING to complain about. It's the era we live in.
If it's not tailored to a persons specific standards, it's garbage.
It's crude, primitive, and superficial. You thought Liberty Prime was fun?
Yes. It's an interesting, pre-war machine that fits the era it was dug up from. Next time they should have Liberty Prime read a philosophical passage from Greek scripture and Shakespearean playwrights to us - effectively putting us to sleep so the pseudo intellectuals can feel euphoric.
Liberty Prime: "Where art thou Red, Chinese Communist Romeo?"
I liked him and his American one liners but I wasn't said when he well...you know.
The concept was somewhat interesting; its use is not. And yes, the cartoony lines don't help, but of course you'd defend them with pulling the strawman before they were even mentioned
The cartoony lines fit the humorous undertones of Fallout. But, please, humor me. What other use would a giant Robot with nukes on its back serve (in the basemant of the Pentagon no-less).
Probably nothing as it wouldn't be used for a silly GLORIOUS VICTORY ATTACK. On something nobody really needs, no less.
And let's see, was Fallout known for cartoony humour or 'dark' humour? Hmm, I can't recall.
The BoS was losing to the Enclave due to the lack of manpower, tech, and general resources. Liberty Prime tipped the scale and was the BoS's ace in the boot. You don't have to like Liberty Prime, but please don't act so high and mighty about it. [censored] like this: "Don't worry, they'll make some other stupidly flashy asset which will no doubt induce many wows in the masses" exudes a level of elitism. It's nonsense and disrespectful to those that like to have fun in their video games.

Agreed.
I'll be honest, seeing comments like that do really makes my eyes itch -w-'
"BoS" was losing to "Enclave" because the game needed that to make some sort of drama and Liberty Prime was there solely as a Hollywood-style wow-effect. It's nonsensical and disrespectful to the series, if anything.
And yes, a drill sergeant (whom you most likely kill later) acting like a "typical" drill sergeant is very cartoony
