Non-leveled unique artifacts that you can find just by exploring. I'm pretty sure that will return though. That's how it was in Fallout 3 after all.

Only if you can't just waltz in on the first levels.

These should be in locked in metal chests with Very Hard locks and guarded by giant fire-breathing bronze lions.

The political and cultural background

Even though it was partly an illusion, the constant sense you got from NPCs that there was a whole living, breathing world where NPCs had political views, viewpoints, prejudices, religious beliefs, cultural interests, racial tensions and so on. Cyrodiil felt one-dimensional by comparison.

The paid transport system.

This, with something appropriate to Skyrim. Caravans, carts, something.

Daedric Katana

hell yeah!! the daedric dai katana's owns every weapon in the elder scroll universe when it comes to design and feel to it. It has this mystic charisma to it. I agree bring it to Skyrim!

1. Armor and Weapon variety.
2. Set unique items in set places (not random everywhere)
3. Paid transportation

I approve with that, and Guars of course!

I'd say separate armor pieces. More fun to collect, more fun to mix and match.

Second.. the enchantment system. I liked how enchanted weapons had their own recharging magicka pool, and I liked the variety of stuff you could enchant with.

Third, I'd say the same sort of level design, but Skyrim's level design is looking quite awesome, judging by the trailer.

The high amount of diverse content that was fitted into the world, the games about exploration to me so I would like exploration to be interesting and rewarding once again.

Climbing and, Bashing open objects (Doors, Containers...)... Oh wait that was from Daggerfall.. nevermind :P

So back from Morrowind then I would wish no unlock or whatever mini games like it was before Oblivion. ( Hopefully that can be easily modded on PC ^^ )

Islands and shipwrecks.

A more in-depth story.

That undefinable sense of mystery and danger that seemed absent from oblivion.

More friction between guilds. As I recall I was high lord Jesus of pretty much everything in Oblivion and it seemed a bit ridiculous.

Wow, that's a hard question to answer.

Number of wearable slots would be number 1, with morrowind's fast travel system being a close 2nd.

That won't stop your Level 1 character from getting those high-level items, if the game is done like in OB, because you'd be able to pick the locks at Level 1 without any skill in it, and the bronze lions would be scaled to your level, and therefore no real threat. Of course, in OB, high level items don't even exist anywhere in the world until you're "ready" for them. Granted, there were numerous "spoiler" items just lying about in Morrowind for the casual taker, but many others were guarded by adversaries which were NOT levelled or scaled, and would cheerfully punt your tender Level 1 posterior back to the boat in Seyda Neen in a single shot. Both games had serious flaws, but they were DIFFERENT flaws.

In my opinion, there were a lot of excellent ideas in each game, although not always implemented in a balanced or rational fashion. If those were reviewed and the best of each chosen AND FIXED, we'd have the best of both games. Instead, "reinventing the wheel" each game insures that the old problems aren't repeated, but that fresh ones will be intoduced. Some "moderation" might be nice, but doesn't seem to happen very often in an "EXTREME" world.
