If one thing from Oblivion made it into Skyrim, what should

Post » Sun Jan 09, 2011 6:01 pm

We have a 'from Morrowind' thread ( http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1171126-if-one-thing-from-morrowind-is-put-back-in/ ), so for the sake of balance.

What feature, item, character etc from Oblivion would you like to see carried over into Skyrim?

Tough question lol. I'd go with the variation in the secondary quest lines. Some of them are truly inspired.

The argonians. They were perfectly done and awesome in OB.

This. Most sidequests really felt unique and fun, as opposed to "escort me there/kill that thing and receive a crappy 'reward' " in Morrowind.
I hope sidequests still are as awesome.

LOL. The adoring fan. I took him to my house in Bruma and told him to wait there. Haven't been back since. Still, it was kind of a fun character. Also, I really liked the Knights of the Nine quest line. I'd like to see that armor set return.

The thing I appreciated most was NPCs had schedules, they didn't just stand around in one place 24/7. You could see them coming and going. Eating, sleeping, going to work, going to the tavern, reading books, etc. But we already know we will see more of this in Skyrim only more improved (hopefully!)

Yes. I really liked that the NPCs had schedules as well.

I just hope the sheer amount of content in oblivion, places to go, things to do, is the same or more

Man, this is hard.

I'm saying the sewers, just because this hasn't been said already & I really liked them.

Definitely! Since we already know that will be in the game, I'd say every Daedric Prince having a quest.* If I recall there was a quest for each in Daggerfall as well. I'd like to see that again.

*Excluding Dagon in Oblivion obviously.

I agree. Anyone who attempts to defend Morrowind's sidequests is a fool. In some regards, I enjoyed the guild quests in Oblivion more than the main quest.

The Count of Skingrad strange encounters. I met him at the bottom of lake rumare where he told me to leave him as he was still grieving. Being a vampire he could turn up randomly to say the same thing.

I'm playing morrowind now and doing guild quests
Go there, pick four mushrooms, return, earn you gold, go there, kill 2 guys, come back, earn your gold.
Besides the terrible journal, it makes browsing quest a pain in the ***.
Oblivion is, in so many ways, better than Morrowind, just blind fanatics fools don't see that.

I played through them for the sake of artifact collecting. There really is no interlinking story, its just a collection of quests you can do for a guild. I guess, we really don't have to fear about this one, modern game storytelling wouldn't allow for Morrowind-style guild quests.
