One Thing that MUST have a toggle

I just about died laughing in the early one, where he shouts "Fus Ro Dah!" because it reminds me of the badly translated taunts they have in Soul Calibur. I expected him to shout "dumb ass!" in a squeaky Californian voice after that.

Does anyone have a link to where he shouts his name?

Anyone remember the Dark Seducers in SI that would run around shouting "Mmmmazken!" like they were pokemon?

lol, that's an even better and more annoying comparison, some one should mod in a "piiii-kaaa-CHUUUU" battlecry

I can see where you are coming from though I'm not sure if it happens every time, it happened when Todd killed the frost dragon but it didn't with the first dragon.

Let's hope so.

While I'm not overly fussed by this, I did find it annoying in Fallout 3, when I was doing sneak melee attacks through VATS, my character would always make ridiculous shouts or grunting noises. None of the hostiles seemed to notice, bizarrely. But it rather defeated the point of a stealth ninja shadow....

I would change it into an optional ability called Challenge: You hold down a button after absorbing the soul of a dragon.

It activates the battlecry, refreshes the player's health/magicka/stamina, and immediately causes the nearest dragon to come down to answer the call of battle.

Its RPG not a shooter. Nobody forcing a sword on to your head and force it to use it. If you don't want to use dragon shouts don't.

I don't know I going to use it or not. Time will tell.

Is it really that important?

That gameplay footage we seen in February and those demo we seen so far its only a tip of a very large iceberg.

How do we know in the game there is something really cool that we have not seen yet.

Except this isn't about dragon shouts at all.
It's about the game forcing your character to shout his own title like it's a kamehameha every time you kill a dragon. whenever it feels like doing so.

An angry dragon may force a player to fight it or die. And after being forced to kill a dragon you get forced to shout out DOVAHKIIN!

You can't really expect people to manage to avoid dragons forever.

Edit: Assuming that the shout happens automatically after defeating a dragon of course.

The Fire Breath does indeed sound like "Oargh!", all Dragonshouts sound terrible in my opinion, they sound nothing like http://youtu.be/PjqsYzBrP-M?t=1m6s. False advertising much? :P
However he does quite clearly yell "Dovahkiin" after killing the Frost Dragon.

I thought this as well, some of them sound like pathetic wimpers, others sound like death metal growls. Perhaps only the tier 3 shouts sound epic?

Yeah, that's stupid. I'd prefer my character to be completely silent in every game without preset characters.

FOOOORUM POOOOSTER!!! :hehe:

And now after listening it again, that was pitiful whimper. How can you save the world sounding like that :shakehead:

Nobody is talking about dragon shouts. People should actually read the original post.

Well, another benefit of being a PC player; just place an empty text file in the path where the sound file is, and rename it to filename.ogg I have to do that for New Vegas death music to maintain my sanity when exploring the World of Pain dungeons :hehe:

Haha try saying your own screen name like Dohvakiin say's his, but here's the clincher you have to tuck your lips over your teeth (top and bottom respectively) while you say it :twirl:

EDIT: I think this way it sounds more appropriate for the intelligence of a person who has to yell out their title every-time they kill a dragon

Yeah, that yell is 70% of the reason why I'm not playing as a Nord anymore, I switched to Dunmer in the hope that the Dragonshouts and yell won't sound so silly with the raspy voice

I think they are quite proud of the finishing scenes. It's not something I care for and after seeing them repeat a number of times, I might want to toggle them off myself. I'll deal with whatever we get on that; it's not that big to me. My little Breton is going to look a bit silly flying up into air like that from the dragon's back. That's not how she'll fight. I wonder how it will look if she has no weapons in her hands and has been using only magic and shouts? Will they still show her climbing on to the dragon's back?

Will probably be replacing that sound file with a silent one if my character would do that stupid cheesy shout after every dragon kill. :brokencomputer:
