@vurt
I threw together a proof of concept regarding converting the emperor parasols to lights - you can find the archive here: http://www.liquidanvil.com/mw/tetchy_emperorparasolglow_v0.1.7z

It's a global replacement for all parasols referenced in the stock game. The readme includes the search and replace method I used with TESCS.

Since this is a PoC and setup to demonstrate what the different flicker effects look like on the parasols, feel free to modify the light settings. Substituting your models for the stock parasols is as simple as changing the Art File for each of the new lights thru the CS, or by renaming your models the same as the stock nifs if you just want to quickly test the lights with your models. :)

I'm not 100% on the glowing flowers. It kind of makes the Ascadian Isles look like downtown Las Vegas :P The mushrooms look fantastic, though :)

I like the glow. Bring it down a little perhaps, but please do keep them glowy. :)

Yeah I agree! :)

I think it can be the bloom shader. Maybe they don't look that glowy without shaders. ?

Haha yeah it's VERY green, i might tweak that a bit ;) did the ashlands texturing kind of quick before i went to sleep.

I think i'll make this (the glowing stuff) a separate mod.. since i really enjoy texturing these glowy models it'll even haven 3 stages to choose from:

subtle (more fitting with morrowind lore in general)
magic (should go well with my other mods)
psychedelic (for people that are into Skydye's and other colorful mods)

i also want to add more mushrooms (my fly argics), new (big) flowers and more trees. My own version of Vality's Ascadian Isles mod you could say.

To make it as compatible as possible, which mods should i install (i will load them in the editor also so i dont put stuff there).

Guitarjoe: i wasnt a big fan of the movie itself, but i really liked the colors and the setting.

I hope you add glowing spores to those mushrooms. Some animation to add life. Ashland trees, I like them but the pattern must be less blurry. Rather than glowing cores maybe vessels?

Glowing spores, yeah that's a good idea.. i could steal the animations from Particle Shroom Trees mod (uses vanilla morrowind particle effects).. i'll probably go crazy getting it work though, i really, really hate doing copy/paste work in NifSkope with animations, there's like a trillions blocks and they all have to work togehter, just understanding them is hell.. i'll give it a try but don't get your hopes up :P

i'll try a few other variations with the ashtrees.

edit: i took a look Particle Shroom Tree. And i was right, there's like a trillion animation blocks, i don't want to deal with that. my animated trees has like 3-4 instances or whatever, and just getting that to work is hell sometimes, it would be like that x 100 ;) Someone here is maybe good at doing copy/paste of particle effects in Nifskope?

I have zero nifskope experience(it is so complicated), but you're copying the particles into your trees. Is it necessary? Maybe you can strip it from there, and just clone the particle effects in CS. Adding some color variation and rotation, it must be ready. But you said "they all have to work together."

I think that would be difficult, i need perfect placement of the spores or it will look really bad.

I'll take a closer look of the particles and how it is set up, but i'll do that a day when i've had more sleep and much more coffee ;) i might ask on the NifSkope forums, the Nifskope people are very helpful usually.

Edit: i could compare the particle shroom trees to my much simpler burning ash tree (also particle effect), i understand that animation somewhat.

Take care of yourself vurt, we don't want to lose you. :wavey:

I can use CS to that extend, simple placing stuff. If it comes to that, I want to help.

Haha, no worries vtastek, apart from a lack of sleep i'm a pretty healthy guy :)

I got the spores particle effect working, it was easier than i thought :)

Edit:

Spores keeps falling on my head... in the shape of - http://piclair.com/data/bmw2y.jpg
