Online bartering

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:29 am

So I was thinking...

Once you reach level 100 in say smithing and you build your favored armor, that's pretty much it for smithing. But I feel it should not end there. There should be an online barter system through Steam once you reach level 100 you have the ability to send and sell armor to people. I am not asking for an online game, just this one feature of selling your "STUFF" online. Not only will this make smithing more exciting at level 100, it will be it's own virtual economy with everyone pricing lower to sell items .etc.

It's way too easy to get 100 smithing for that. Why would someone spend 10,000 coin on a set of dragon armor when it only takes 3-5 hours of gameplay to get to 100 smithing IF THAT. Wouldn't work.

I don't even want my characters to be able to exchange services... much less accept the services of others.

Clearly this post is going over the majority of peoples heads. You do not NEED to trade if you do not want to. THERE IS NO ONLINE as in multiplayer rather a system through STEAM "Which BTW you are online anyways" that allows you to trade armor. For those of use who want it.

No. Let them focus on features that actually improve the quality of the game.

I never said when they had to start this. They can do this AFTER they fix all the quality issues with the game.

Also may I remind some of you. The "multiplayer" mod was one of the if not the most anticipated mod if not the most for Oblivion. It never came out, but again I am not asking for a full fledged multiplayer just an extension of the game.

I have all the way back to Arena.
I am aware that there are always little bugs in the game that will never get fixed, but there are some big ones that need to be fixed.

I call them that because I use the mod community to fix the larger ones Bethesda does not fix. Also even without mods i rarely run into a major bug in morrowind and oblivion. The biggest one being the NPCs are dumb as S#!$

That's still "online".

And pointless - anyone can powerlevel their crafting up. Or, console cheat their crafting up. Or mod-boost their crafting up (once the CK is released).

There's literally no reason at all to ever need or want to swap gear with other players.

Because this is a STEAM game you are always ONLINE anyways (unless you do offline mode) so what's your point?

This is close enough to an online discussion to continue with the suggestion (whether it be through the game or via Steam) in this topic -
