EA Online Petitions

Post » Fri Jan 16, 2009 7:13 pm

Id like to start a petition to lower the age limit, and worst of all people who have gone over 18 still cant play. Id like the age restriction to be removed because it complete and total **** that we cant play when we spend 60 dollars trying to buy it then we FINNALY get it and go to play online and... BAM, cant play online. This should be removed, also there is a problem. Parents try to get EA on the phone to get them to allow their child, and 99% they dont answer and then they SAY they will change it, and its never change. I have this problem myself. If youd like to try to fix this vote on the poll above.
I can play on multiplayer this is for the others who cant!

FAQ & Comment Answering

How does the game know someone under 18 is playing?
They check the information of your X Box Live Profile Account which is unnecessary because if they let us on in the first place there would be no need.

Your poll options are somewhat biased as I would vote no. I play CoD to hear kids scream and whine over the microphones and I have to mute them. This way I don't have to be bothered by hormonal, just-breaking-puberty, kids...

Thanks EA!

Now go play Kinectimals.
See, thats not the point, and kinectimals should be burned over. Anyways CoD should block MICS if your under 16 or so, same with most other online games. Not gameplay. Thats a bit rediculus. Now please shutup and vote or not. No need for the ol' angry troll routine.

No one reads so
EVEN IF YOU MATURE PAST 18 THEY STILL BLOCK YOU DUE TO AN UNUPDATED SYSTEM AND THIS HAPPENS BECAUSE IF YOU DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT ON AN OLDER GAME AND TRIED TO PLAY IT AND THEN IT BLOCKED YOU OUT SO THEN YOU CAN NEVER PLAY ON THAT ACCOUNT
get it now?

They check the XBL profile information which I think is completely unnecessary.

Your poll suggests that you are not mature enough to play this game

if this is true then i just want to say thank you to EA. The game is rated M for a reason and all the mature people dont wanna deal with kids whose parents just buy them whatever they want because they dont wanna listen to your annoying whiney voices so they make us deal with it. Go do some homework or get outside. This is why so many people are sick of COD, and EA relizes it, they dont want this community leaving because it was taken over by kids who shouldnt have the game in the first place.

This poll suggests even people over 18 cant play due to them not updating ages and keeping the first age they got from them.

Isn't that a problem with Microsoft not Crytek?

This doesn't seem all that fair.

I'm 17 (18 in April) and Crysis 2 is rated MA15+ in Australia so anyone older than 15 is legally able to play it. Therefore EA is superseding the age restrictions of Australia. It just doesn't seem fair that people who are legally allowed to buy and play the game cannot play multiplayer because of a rather ridiculous restriction placed on it by the publisher.

And why wasn't the demo age restricted?

I get why people wouldn't want immature people on the game that are annoying and whiny, but the only problem is that there are people younger than 18 that aren't like that and people above 18 like that. Also if they get the game, no matter how, they should be able to play it. Also what is the mute for anyway, huh?
Just saying.

I have my own kids that would not want to play this game but if they somehow did i wouldn't too upset it's not that bad. I do agree that kids on mic can get really annoying sometimes but I have met a lot of advlts that are worse. It's a double edged sword

I agree with that, however, majority of under-teens are plainly annoying. They don't realize that they're being annoying which is the worst part of it. I know a bunch of people who are probably much more mature than quite a few advlts I've met too, but most kids I meet online just don't know when to stop talking/singing/muttering. Thank you Microsoft for a mute option!!

BTW, no offence meant towards any kids out there.

The reason minors cannot get on the multiplayer is because caracters often says "F*ck you, @sshole" and other dirty stuff like that when they kill you.

But there is a fix, you put the cd in the box then wait ... a few years until your old enought
