[Question of DX10 in Crysis 2] Only Crytek / EA Team please

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 10:26 am

I would like to ask if there will be a DirectX 10 in Crysis 2 maybe in the future?
I have noticed that this game has .dll library for dx10 in binary folder.
Does it mean something?

Cheers.

This is Cry-Tom's usual response to these threads:

"As you may have expected, there is nothing that I can share with you on this topic. Please do not create threads with usernames in them (staff or otherwise) in future, usually this will result in the thread being removed, unanswered."

It's even weirder that DX11 files can be found on the game disc.

"As you may have expected, there is nothing that I can share with you on this topic. Please do not create threads with usernames in them (staff or otherwise) in future, usually this will result in the thread being removed, unanswered." Such bull. There's plenty they can share, but they just either don't want to or EA won't let them.

But yes, after Crytek releases mod tools, this game will have DX10/11. I highly doubt that any Crytek implementation will go well, and they obviously don't want to rebuild the game from scratch. Judging by what happened to STALKER and its mod phenomenon, it's safe to say that the community, at the very least, is likely to completely overhaul the restrained CryEngine 3 that runs Crysis 2 and implement any removed features.

That's what I predict, at least. Thoughts?

(Also, Crytek has implemented a word filter? HA!)
